Lil Wayne became visibly emotional as he was showered with honors from both Master P and New Orleans mayor LaToya Cantrell.
While performing at his LilWeezyAna Festival on Saturday (November 2), Wayne was presented with the key to his hometown by Cantrell.

The rap legend appeared to fight back tears as the mayor thanked him for the work he has put in for the city over the years.
Fellow NOLA native Master P then graced the stage to announce that New Orleans is getting its own Walk of Fame and that the “A Milli” hitmaker will be one of the first honorees.

The No Limit mogul handed Wayne his custom fleur-de-lis plaque, which will be revealed on Canal Street in New Orleans next February.
It was also revealed that February 6 and 7 will henceforth be known as Lil Wayne Day in the Big Easy.
In addition to Lil Wayne receiving his flowers from the city he calls home, LilWeezyAna Festival was also notable for its Hot Boys reunion, with the group performing as a four-piece for the first time since 2000.
During the show, Wayne, Juvenile, B.G. and Turk performed classic hits like “Get Your Roll On,” “I Need a Hot Girl” and “Neighborhood Superstar,” as well as their respective solo material.
Cash Money co-founder Birdman and legendary producer Mannie Fresh also joined the party to perform “I Need a Hot Girl,” seemingly signifying that the various feuds that have plagued the collective in recent years are now a thing of the past.
It has also been rumored that the Hot Boys will reunite for a tour and a new album.

“Hot Boys is back together, man. Turk gonna be with me tonight, I’m gonna be with B.G. next week. Me, Wayne, Turk and B.G., all of us gonna be on stage in New Orleans with Mannie Fresh and Birdman,” Juvie said on Instagram Live earlier this year, referring to the near-complete Cash Money reunion at Essence Fest in July.
He then added: “And we already started working on the Hot Boys album.”
