Lil Wayne has again declared himself the greatest rapper of all time on a new song with Cordae called “Saturday Mornings.”
Released on Wednesday (July 24), the Smoko Ono and BoogzDaBeast-produced track features a chopped soul sample and dusty drums, providing the perfect backdrop for the two lyricists to trade braggadocious bars.

“Saturday Mornings” marks the first single from Cordae’s upcoming album, which he teased on Instagram earlier this week.
He posted a video of himself playing chess in a parking lot, soundtracked by an old soul record. It also captured the 26-year-old in MC in dad mode, carrying his young daughter in a booster seat and talking to her as if he was in a record label meeting.
Cordae welcomed his first child with tennis star Naomi Osaka in July 2023 after four years of dating.
He captioned the cryptic album teaser: “The Crossroads Era begins now…… New song this Wednesday 7/24.”
Lil Wayne isn’t the only rap legend who has laid claim to the title of G.O.A.T. of late.
Earlier this month, Eminem doubled down on his belief that he’s the Rap God on his single “Tobey,” which arrived ahead of his latest album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

The Big Sean and Baby Tron-assisted track found the Detroit native disputing his No. 5 ranking on Billboard and VIBE‘s Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time list, which was topped by JAY-Z. (Lil Wayne came in at No. 7.)
“Ain’t feelin’ your top five favorite rappers / So I know they ’bout to be pissed at me / But this, to me, is a mystery / How rappers I’ve already ripped could be / Higher up on a list than me / Yet here I sit on your list though at five, which still was fine / But just know inside, to me, that shit’s hilarious,” he spit on the explosive track.
