Lil Wayne has defended his decision to pose for a picture with Donald Trump back in 2020.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Weezy detailed how the photo came about and that he didn’t care about the backlash he suffered as a result.
He said: “There was some people in there like, ‘Y’all should take a picture.’ He didn’t even ask for a picture. (Trump) says, ‘These motherfuckers asking me for fucking pictures all fucking day, man. Can we please?’ I said, ‘It’s the President. OK.’ (Trump) was like, ‘Thank you. Bitches (been) bothering me all day.’
“Fuck no, I don’t care about no backlash for nothin’ I do, you know me, man. My mama woulda been mad if I ain’t smile. That might have been the only backlash I would have worried about.”
Wayne also refused to directly endorse Trump when asked if he would have campaigned for the Republican: “I would’ve told him, ‘You probably don’t want that,’ because I don’t know what’s going on. I can tell you who won the last game, but I can’t really … you know what I mean?”
Just months after Wayne posed for the picture with Trump, he was pardoned during the former reality star’s final days in office over gun possession charges that could have landed the rap legend a decade in prison.
After he was granted the pardon, Wayne said: “I want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community. I also want to thank @bradfordcohen for working so diligently to secure another chance for me. Love!”
On the music front, Wayne recently said that he was no longer interested in performing at the Super Bowl after not being picked for this year’s event which was hosted by his home town of New Orleans.
“Every time I looked, it was nothing that made me want to go inside and see what was going on,” he explained, before adding: “They stole that feeling. I don’t want to do it. It was perfect.”
When he wasn’t chosen, he says the NFL simply told him, “We ain’t in charge [of the Super Bowl halftime show].”
He continued: “All of a sudden, according to them, they got curved. So, I’m going to have to just settle with whatever they say.”
I never liked Wayne’s music, but always respected the man. He’s always been straight up about things. Just does things his way.
This is fence sitting. “I’m going to take a picture with the president but won’t endorse either side because ‘I don’t know anything.’” As if everyone with a smartphone doesn’t have the ability to stay caught up with current events. Weezy is a fucking loser for this and saying you respect it makes you a fucking loser.
I disagree. Plenty of people don’t keep up with politics and don’t want to, because they aren’t stupid, and understand that their involvement doesn’t actually make a difference. I’m more conservative myself, and I didn’t like Clinton, Bush, or Obama… but I’d have taken any opportunity to take a picture with and meet them. See, the office of the Presidency is quite prestigious. Normal people would bounce on an opportunity to meet any preaidnet. I’ve met people who won’t vote because they don’t keep up with policies, and think that people shouldn’t vote unless they educate themselves first. I don’t blame people one tiny bit for ignoring politics. I don’t even think voting makes a difference. It’s all rigged. Democracy doesn’t exist.
Dudes so mad Wayne isn’t political but likes to meet president’s lol. Channel your anger, and maybe you’ll find a life in which you have better things to do than talk badly about rich dudes on a gossip site.
A president is a political figure. Meeting the president is inherently political…. you fucking idiot. Looking up to a 40 year old man whose face looks like a chipotle bag is absolutely pathetic. You’re a fucking loser.
You’re the most angry and butthurt person for absolutely no reason LOL. Get your message brother.
Keeping up with politics isn’t that hard. If you’re going to visit the president, but are too lazy to read up on political current events, then you’re a selfish fucking moron who only cares about attention. Can’t have the best of both worlds. If politics don’t matter to you, fine, but by that logic, a picture with the president should also not matter to you. You’re a fucking idiot
Well, don’t worry @what, you’ll never get the chance to meet an American presidnet, so it’s not something in your court. Just angrily comment online about how others should or shouldn’t meet a president.
@Lame
Don’t break a nail
He looks like Animal the muppet in that pic. Where is the drumset?
Just another one of my rappers keeping it real. They do drugs and are damn near illiterate, so they’re my kind of blacks.
It shouldn’t be a problem

Relax commie, the geniuses are now in control! Your 401ks may suffer, but at least you have Gulf of America! Have you said thank you to me today yet?
@King Trump
I guarantee a year from now the stock market will be at new ATHs, the tariff wars will be mostly forgotten except with China potentially, and you weirdos will be whining that, due to the stock market being so high, billionaires are making too much money and it was part of Trump’s evil plan all along.
People really need to grow up. Petty crap. He can take a picture with whoever.
lil wayne endorsed obama in a milli
Wayne is him! All these vultures and weirdo liberal people need to go music and art was intended for freedom not warped for their agendas. The mainstream just wants what they’re told is appropriate. It’s why we need Ye.
