Young Guru has scoffed at Ebro Darden‘s claim that 50 Cent would easily defeat Lil Wayne in a Verzuz battle, saying the latter would “wash” the former.
Guru’s pushback comes after Ebro set off a firestorm on Twitter earlier this week by declaring: “What Jadakiss did to Dipset…Is what 50 will do to Wayne.”
His tweet came in response to a clip from a recent episode of Apple Music’s Rap Life Review, during which co-host Eddie Francis said that Ebro claimed 50 would “wash” Wayne in a song-for-song battle.
Young Guru — best known as JAY-Z’s longtime engineer — took to his Instagram Stories on Friday (March 24) to weigh in on the debate, writing: “Y’all are crazy. Wayne would wash 50. Period.”
The outcome of a potential 50 Cent-Lil Wayne Verzuz battle was hotly debated on Rap Life Review, with Eddie Francis disagreeing with Ebro that the G-Unit general would overpower the Cash Money Millionaire.
“I seen that and I was like, ‘What?!’ In what world?’” he said. “I’m not even here to say 50 could beat Lil Wayne, but to say that 50 would wash Lil Wayne? In no dimension, in no world, in no — just no! That would not happen.”
Lowkey also wasn’t quite in agreement with Ebro that 50 Cent would “wash” Lil Wayne, but claimed that Weezy would struggle to compete with Fif in the Verzuz ring if his setlist wasn’t airtight.
“Wayne don’t have a Get Rich or Die Tryin,‘” Low said. “We’re talking about a Verzuz battle, right? We’re not talking about what we like. We’re not talking about what we grew up on. We’re not talking about what we listen to when we’re in the kitchen cooking or driving down whatever highway in L.A. that you drive down.
“We’re talking about in a crowd. We’re talking about 50 Cent. This man is a mainstream monster; Wayne is a cultural mainstream monster. But when we talk about these hits? When we talk about these bodies of work? When we talk about these smashes?”
He continued: “I ain’t saying 50’s gonna wash Wayne, but if Wayne is not sequenced right and is not positioned correctly, that could be a very long fucking night for Dwayne Carter.”
The debate also made it to The Breakfast Club on Thursday (March 23), where DJ Envy said he agreed with Ebro’s 50 Cent versus Lil Wayne take, but acknowledged it would be a close match-up.
“He is right: Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is a classic album, but you can’t sit there and act like Wayne don’t have classic bodies of work and classic records,” Envy said. “It wouldn’t be a wash at all.”
Despite the fervent chatter, fans would be wise not to hold their breath to see 50 Cent step into the Verzuz arena. During a red carpet interview at the premiere of his Starz series Power Book III: Raising Kanan in 2021, the Queens, New York native dismissed the prospect of him participating in the popular battle series.
“A Verzuz battle?” he pondered. “Probably not! We back outside,” he laughed.
“That was something that happened during the pandemic when we was stuck in the house. Now that we back outside, there’s other things to do. We supposed to be creating new history, not being back there.”
lol Lil wayne is pretentious
He really is. I have no idea how he freely travels to Canada with his felony firearms convictions either.
Most people get rejected for a misdemeanor DUI !!!

Don’t forget Wayne from the late 90s era where lyrics n metaphors did matter but died out. He transitioned pretty good into todays style. He’s severely underrated tbh. 50 wack. Tough boy image only thing that kept at least his rap career alive. TV is his thing.
“transitioned pretty good”?????
Lol🤦 EVERY RAPPER AFTER HIM……IS HIM LOL
50 Brought y’all “gangsta rap” to a new level….Wayne created the style today’s rappers have🤷
This is a fact. The only people denying this reality are New York dickriders and the last remnants of the G-Unit soldiers.
#ShutYoDumbAssUp
Lol do people not know 50 has hits from
G unit Mixtapes
GRODT
Beg For Mercy
The Massacre
Gunit Artist Albums
GRODT Soundtrack
The Documentary
Curtis
I agree Wayne can pull from a lot of stuff but it’s just 20 songs and the best 20 Songs from 50 are better than Wayne’s 🤷🏻♂️
If people don’t know about them, they’re not hits. Fif’s best heat is on those mix tapes outside of what he did before his first studio album, but none of those songs were hits. By that token, Wayne actually did have a few songs off his mix tapes become hits. This is just no competition any way you slice it. Wayne is better at everything.
Old Doodoo, you need to worry about wiping the sweat off your billionaire boss Jay Z’s balls, thats your job, don’t forget about that
Truth. Easily washed. 50 has one good album which was his first one. He’s no where near Wayne s level. Wayne has a 20 year catalog. 50 gotta pull stuff from his artist and collabos and still can’t compete with Wayne. 17-3 maybe 15-5 Wayne. This is such an uneven match.
That 1 album will smoke Waynes 10 plus wack albums.

its 20 songs. not whole catalog vs catalog. 50s top 20 songs are better than wanyes.
Wayne is not beating 50 cent over any Dr Dre and Scott Storch beats.
50 cent has 13 top-10 hits, and 41 top-100 singles
Lil Wayne has 25 top-10 hits, and 184 top-100 singles
And we’re not even mentioning Wayne’s mixtape catalog. This isn’t even close
you can tell these losers at hhdx are wayne stans by the comments they censor
I like both but personally i just like 50’s music more then Wayne’s.
Tha Carter 2 is Waynes magnum opus Carter 3 was cool 2 was a HUNGRY lil Wayne 🤷♂️
