Lil Nas X has issued an apology to the trans community after posting a failed joke about transitioning on social media.
In a tweet on Tuesday (March 14), the “Old Town Road” rapper admitted he was in the wrong for his initial post. The joke in question has since been deleted, but featured a photo of a woman that bared a resemblance to him with the caption: “The surgery was a success” alongside a heart emoji.
“Apologies to the trans community i def handled that situation with anger instead of considering why it was not cool,” Lil Nas wrote in his apology. “Much love to you guys. sorry.”
The topic wasn’t done there, however, as a fan then responded and said his “fake” apology wasn’t enough. To that, Nas X simply wrote: “girl eat my ass.”
In other news, Lil Nas X has confirmed his long-awaited sophomore album will arrive this year – nearly two years after his hit debut, Montero. The news arrived amid an impromptu Q&A session with fans on Twitter last month.
Though he didn’t give any sort of tracklist, nor could he confirm how many songs it would be, he did reveal that his Saucy Santana collaboration, “Down Souf Hoes,” will live on the sophomore effort – despite having previously been leaked.
“idk [how many tracks],” he added. “i love so many songs plus i’m still in the studio making music so it’s gone be hard to pick.”
As far as when to expect it, Lil Nas X said “most likely summer” – but there are still some details to sort out.
“it’s mostly planning now,” he said. “i could easily just release music but i have to build moments around this shit. i have to go bigger than before!”
Montero arrived in September 2021 and included his two chart-topping singles, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and “Industry Baby” with Jack Harlow. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, selling 126,000 equivalent units in its first week and later went on to be certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
I swear the trans community needs apologies more than their ability to breathe in an out.
I dont care for this flamboyant mf but he shouldn’t have apologized for shit
Anyone who is under attack for their lifestyle has the right to speak out. With that being said , GTFO. This particular group needs to ha e a coke and a smile.and shut the fluck up. how many trans people killed per day? Raped per day? Did they get enslaved for 400+ years? Where they slaughter by the hands of British colonies now called white Americans? They have their own month, parade and flags. Fight for what you want but that spotlight needs to get reduced to fisher price flashlight real fast. It’s our fault they have this much momentum on such a insignificant topic. They’re like a bad advertisement billboard. “Just dont look”
U sound angry bro. And stop typing essays on this website lol
You know there’s black trans people too, right? And yeah, trans cause has definitely benefited from white privilege, but it’s helping more than just white people. Also, what are people supposed to do, just sit here and say “nah fuck fighting for rights until everyone else has there’s?” GTFO indeed.
