Lil’ Kim has put her own spin on one of Michael Jackson’s most classic dance routines during her opening performance on Janet Jackson’s “Together Again” tour.

On Thursday (May 18), The Shade Room released footage of  the legendary lyricist rocking a black fedora, and a black-sequenced outfit while attempting to recreate some of the King of Pop’s most famous dance moves to his 1988 hit, “Smooth Criminal.” Her backup dancers were also dressed in all black and accompanied Lil’ Kim with each shoulder pop and brief sprint across the stage.

People in the comment section had a mixed set of opinions on Lil’ Kim’s slick moves.

I love Kim and really want her to win, but she needs to fire her choreographer,” one fan wrote, while another one added, “I hate to be the one to say it …. But I’ve been enjoying kim … she’s having fun and putting on a show lol.”

Lil’ Kim has been working out her dance moves across various stages and festivals as of late. On May 6, a fan captured footage of the legendary rapper remixing Lil Uzi Vert’s“Just Wanna Rock” dance while performing at the Lovers and Friends concert. While dressed in all black, Lil’ Kim threw in her “Quiet Storm” dance, along with a couple of body rolls, before doing the dance made famous by Lil Uzi Vert.

In other Lil Kim news, she was recently honored at Spotify’s Feelin’ Myself Fashion Show. She announced it on Instagram after the streaming company put a Billboard of her up in Times Square.

“Awww this is so sweet!!!,” Lil Kim said in March 2023. “Thank U @spotify for the magnificent billboard. I’m super appreciative. Hey guys, If you are in Times Square New York stop by the billboard take a picture and I’ll post it. [heart emoji][camera emoji][Hugging face emoji].”

In addition, Swizz Beatz is leaving hope alive for a possible Verzuz battle between Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj. The Verzuz co-founder appeared on The Breakfast Club for an interview on Wednesday morning (April 26), where co-host DJ Envy asked if the idea of a battle between the two former enemies was still on the table – and while he didn’t confirm, he also didn’t deny.

“I can’t say, I can’t say,” Swizz said.

When Envy clarified, “So there’s still a possibility?” Swizz kept the same energy. “Yeah, I can’t say. I can’t say. But just know if you’re going to wait this long for Verzuz – if we gone have you wait this long – it’s definitely going to be worth it.”
