Lil Durk and Morgan Wallen’s bond has grown significantly since the pair collaborated on a track called “Stand By Me,” which appeared on the rapper’s Almost Healed album.

On Thursday night (June 22), Wallen’s One Night at a Time World Tour rolled into Chicago, and the country singer decided to surprise the Wrigley Field crowd by bringing out hometown hero Lil Durk as a special guest.

“This is where I usually step off [the] stage and take a little break, but I’ve got a good buddy in town…he is one of Chicago’s own,” Wallen told the crowd. “Y’all make some noise for my brother Lil Durk!”

The pair would go on to perform their collab, much to the enjoyment of the fans in the crowd, as they traded verses back and forth. Wallen returned to Wrigley for one more night before moving on to his next tour stop in Michigan.

Prior to “Stand By Me,” the pair collaborated on another track called “Broadway Girls,” off Durk’s 2022 album 7220. Since then, the two have grown quite close.

In May, Wallen and Durk were spotted decked out in camo as they showed off a fresh new catch they snagged while fishing in Wallen’s hometown of Tennessee.

Lil Durk and Morgan Wallen forged an unlikely relationship back in 2021 after the “7 Summers” singer was seen on video yelling the n-word and other profanities outside a Nashville residence.

Durk went to bat for Wallen during the fallout, telling TMZ he doesn’t consider the 30-year-old a racist.

Meanwhile, Lil Durk recently elaborated on why it was a two-year process for him and J. Cole to record their current single “All My Life.”

“He went super crazy,” Lil Durk said on The Nadeska Show last week. “It’s so crazy because we’d been talking for like, two years, and he’d always be like, ‘Send me a record.’ And I’m like, ‘I gotta find the right record.’ I’m glad I waited two years.

“In my eyes he a legend. If you have a chance to do a song with a legend, it be like, will you send them something just to send it, just to say you got one, or you gone make it stick. So that’s why I never just sent him a record. Cause I’m like, ‘I want something that’s gon’ stick.'”
