Lil Durk‘s attorneys have claimed that prosecutors have no substantial evidence against the Chicago rapper despite charging him with murder-for-hire.

Durk’s team of attorneys — made up of Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg of The Findling Law Firm, P.C., along with Jonathan Brayman and Christy O’Connor — allege that the prosecution using the rapper’s lyrics is a sign that they have little real evidence against their client.

They said to TMZ: “When you see an artist’s rap lyrics quoted as ‘evidence’ against them, it is a glaring indication that there is no real evidence against that person.”

According to prosecutors, Durk detailed the lead up to the 2022 murder of his rap rival Quando Rondo’s cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson on Babyface Ray’s song “Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy.”

On the track, he rapped: “Told me they got an addy (gooo)/ Got location (gooo) Green light (go, go, go, go, go)/ Look on the news and see your son, you screamin’, ‘No, no’ (pussy).”

While the song was released after the murder took place, Durk’s attorneys deny there is any relation between the track and the fatal shooting.

They said: “The claims in the indictment against Mr. Banks [Durk] are false and lacking in the most basic due diligence. The real truth is that Durk Banks is a Grammy Award-winning artist, a dedicated father, and a loving husband.”

They added: “Mr. Banks has been intensely committed to giving back to the Chicago community he loves through his Neighborhood Heroes Foundation and has put on more than a dozen charitable events over the last few years. He is looking forward to fighting against these false allegations in court.”

50 Cent recently backed Lil Durk to beat the serious charges after hiring renowned attorney Drew Findling.

In an Instagram post last month, Fif shared a photo of Findling — who has represented the likes of Cardi B, Lil Baby, DaBaby and more — and noted that Durk is in good hands.
