Lil Baby‘s lawyers are blasting Atlanta police after they attempted to blame him for the two teenagers who were killed in Atlanta last year.

Atlanta police are linking the double murder to a triple shooting that broke out on the set of the rapper’s video shoot in May 2024.

In a press conference on Wednesday (February 26) announcing the arrests of seven people connected to the murders, Major Ralph Woolfolk pointed the finger at Lil Baby and labeled him a “coward.”

Authorities believe a “high-ranking” gang rival of Baby’s ordered the hit on the two teens, who were said to be innocent, over a prison phone call in Georgia.

In response, Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, issued a statement to TMZ, calling the accusations “complete and total nonsense.”

They continued: “To say that he couldn’t shoot a music video in his home town, a place that he loves and has continued to uplift, is disgraceful. Even more, the location for a major music video shoot is a decision made by a professional team and is not a decision made by any individual.”

They went on to note that Baby “had absolutely no involvement” in the shooting, and called out APD for their “unprofessional, unethical and shameful” treatment of their client. They also said he is “devastated” about their deaths.

In their initial press conference, Major Woolfolk said: “Lamon Freeman was allowed to be a 13 year old for 27 minutes before gang violence ultimately took his life. Gang violence that was orchestrated by adults. And the cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go over into a rival gang stronghold and shoot a music video in a place that he knew he should not have been.”

Woolfolk also appeared to address Baby directly, saying: “You know who you are. And I’ll tell you that this team will work relentlessly to hold you and the persons that you are affiliated with responsible for those actions.”

There is also a $50,000 reward for anybody who has any information relating to the crimes.

Lil Baby himself was not injured in the shooting on his video set, but three men were shot and suffered wounds to the chest, arm and neck. All three survived and made full recoveries.

TMZ reported at the time that the shooting was the result of an altercation between “two unknown parties” as members of Baby’s label, Quality Control, were filming the video.
