Lawyer Calls Diddy’s Defense “Engulfed in Fantasy”

Sean “Diddy” Combs continues to deny accusations that he punched a party goer in a parking lot of an Oscar Awards after party.

According to the Los Angeles Independent, Diddy filed a declaration earlier this month to prevent efforts by lawyers to obtain his financial worth.

According to plaintiff Gerard Rechnitzer’s lawsuit, he used the restroom, and went to the parking lot to meet friends and was assaulted :”without provocation” by Diddy, who was talking to Rechnitzer’s girlfriend.

Combs’ denial stated that the plaintiff lunged toward him, and that “any contact…was caused by his forward motion against my open hand.

Rechnitzer’s lawyer, Michael M. Marzban challenged this defense in a response filed Feb. 20. “People do not bounce off hands with their face/body, they get
    punched
,’’ wrote Marzban. “The defense is engulfed in fantasy and not
    reality.
    ’’

In addition, Marzban wrote that “[Combs] is not a doctor, hence his statements regarding [Rechnitzer] being uninjured should be completely disregarded.’’ Four people who saw the confrontation agree that Rechnitzer was victim to an unprovoked right backhand punch to his face.

According to Rechnitzer, the assault occurred between 2 and 2:30 in the morning on Feb. 25, 2007. Diddy also allegedly pushed Rechnitzer’s girlfriend; it is also alleged that as Diddy left, he stuck half o his body out of a car window and stared at Rechnitzer.

Diddy maintains that he is “in no way legally responsible” for what happened to Rechnitzer.
