Lauryn Hill, Diddy and Lil Uzi Vert are among the star-studded artists slated to perform at the 2023 edition of Philadelphia’s Roots Picnic festival.
This year’s Roots Picnic is set to take over The Mann in Fairmount Park June 2-4. Pre-sale tickets go on sale Tuesday (February 20), with general tickets available from Wednesday (February 21).

Other performers on the bill include The Roots, Black Thought, Eve, Busta Rhymes, City Girls, Ari Lennox, GloRilla, DJ Drama, Lucky Daye, State Property and many others.
The podcast stage boasts live episodes with DJ Akademiks, Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee’s Lip. While legendary comic Dave Chappelle will also be doing a show at the Wells Fargo Center on June 2.

Lauryn Hill fans can expect her to perform cuts from The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in celebration of the Grammy-winning album’s 25th anniversary.
While many fans are excited about this year’s event, there are still some who are scarred from last year’s festival after it was alleged that many of the acts were late which in turn caused fans to be left dehydrated with a lack of drink options.

“[They] Starved us, dehydrated us, every set was late, some were no shows, and we couldn’t hear the major acts cause sound was messed up,” one person wrote of her hesitancy to buy tickets again.
Another added: “Yep everyone was hella late. Especially Mary J. People were pissed and started leaving before she even came on. They figured she wasn’t coming. She eventually showed close to midnight.”
