Latto has all the makings of a perfect shindig in her rowdy new video for “Issa Party.”
Released on Friday (September 29), the BabyDrill-assisted song is a flip of Waka Flocka’s 2010 classic, “Grove Street Party.” On her verse, Latto makes some references to her opps without naming names – leading fans to speculate who she could be referring to.

“Bitch I’m red, not green, little hoe stop playin’ with me/I hate borin’ bitches, they be throwin’ off my energy,” she raps as she kicks off the track. “Stop callin’ me sis little hoe, you know you ain’t no kin to me!”
Elsewhere she says: “Bitches love to hate, say it’s fake, but I’m real thick/N-gga playin’ cray, loose screw, I call Drill quick!”

The track arrives just one day after fans speculated that Ice Spice was throwing shade at Latto in a new interview.
The “Munch” rapper sat down with Variety on Thursday (September 28), where she spoke about the cutthroat competition that exists between Hip Hop’s current crop of leading ladies.
“It is a competition at the end of the day,” she said. “People want to be all, ‘I’m a girl’s girl,’ but then behind the scenes being bitches. Basically, we here, the girls, are doing amazing. I’m excited to see it. I feel like the competition is what keeps us all excited because I think we all secretly enjoy competing and seeing who put that shit on better and who’s gon’ get the most views.
“I can be transparent, and I know the competition is checking on me too, which is why it’s OK to say that. Because it’s like, ‘Yeah, girl, I’m watching you and I know you watching me.’ And boys are watching too, because they be secretly haters.

She continued: “But everybody today is competing with everybody no matter if you a boy, girl, nonbinary, whatever it is. You still checking in on your competition. That’s in every industry.”
Some fans felt that Ice Spice’s “bitches” dig was aimed at Latto given the apparent friction that has been brewing between the two of them this year.
While “Issa Party” obviously isn’t responding directly to the interview because there is no world where Latto could have recorded a song, mixed the song and shot and edited a video in 24 hours, it’s possible it could still be a dig at the Bronx rapper.

Tension between the rap starlets began to take hold in March when a fan accused Latto of ripping off Ice Spice’s signature pose, which she vehemently denied.
“Every time y’all accuse me of copying folks ima clear it up. Nun mo nun less,” she hit back, before adding in a separate tweet: “I don’t like how y’all take my tweets & make them fit ur weak ass narratives.”

Months later, the Bronx native delivered her Like..? deluxe project, and fans speculated that she was taking shots at Latto by referencing her “Put It On Da Floor” hit.
On “How High?” Ice Spice took a page out of Biggie’s rhyme book by spitting: “Now she all on the floor when I kick in the door/ How you mad I do less ’cause you gotta do more?”
And on “Butterfly Ku,” she rapped: “Where she at? On the floor/ She gettin’ money, but I’m gettin’ more.”
