According to AllHipHop, the Cleveland rap legend was admitted to hospital in Los Angeles, California on Friday (September 22) after coughing up large amounts of blood.
After Krayzie underwent a CAT scan, doctors apparently discovered an artery was leaking inside one of his lungs. The 50-year-old then underwent immediate surgery, but the bleeding didn’t stop.
Krayzie Bone, whose real name is Anthony Henderson, has since been sedated and placed on a breathing machine.
The rapper suffers from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease in which the immune system overreacts, causing groups of cells to form clusters of inflamed tissue called “granulomas” in one or more organs of the body.
According to the American Lung Society, sarcoidosis most commonly affects the lungs and lymph nodes, and can be life-threatening if it progresses to heart or severe lung disease.
UPDATE [10:15 a.m. PT]: According to TMZ, Krayzie Bone is due to undergo second surgery on Monday (September 25) in an effort to stop the internal bleeding.
“Our sources tell us his family members have been the only ones allowed to see him, and they’re at his side now,” the outlet reports. “Krayzie’s team, we’re told, is meeting today to get more updates.”
As news of his hospitalization spread, prayers and well wishes have poured in from across the Hip Hop community.
NBA superstar and former Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James also offered his support by tweeting: “[prayers] to Krayzie man!!!!”

Krayzie Bone’s health scare comes shortly after a career highlight for both himself and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, who were honored with their own street in their hometown of Cleveland last month.
Krayzie and Bizzy Bone were joined by fans on Hip Hop’s 50th birthday on August 11 as East 99th Street — after which the group’s 1995 album is named — officially became “Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Way.”
“50 years of hip hop 30 years of @btnhlive Let’s Live,” Krayzie wrote on Instagram while commemorating the occasion.
HipHopDX sends its well wishes to Krayzie Bone.
