Kodak Black has made his acting debut in a new short film called The Don — and the trailer is out now.
The film, which was written and directed by Yak himself, will premiere at secret locations in Miami, Florida, New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles on Friday (May 26). It stars Kodak as a disgruntled crime boss who comes into conflict with old enemies.

Busta Rhymes was among those who applauded Kodak’s new creative venture, showering the rapper in fire emojis in the comments section.

The Don will coincide with the release of Kodak Black’s new album Pistolz & Pearlz, which also drops on Friday (May 26). The album will face off against Lil Durk’sAlmost Healed and Moneybagg Yo’sHard to Love: Heartless Edition.

The 21-track project will include features from EST Gee, Loe Shimmy and numerous other Sniper Gang artists, and closes out Kodak’s deal with Atlantic Records, to whom he’s been signed since 2017. The Florida rapper announced last October that his new label home will be Capitol Records.
Pistolz & Pearlz also serves as the follow-up to Kodak’s 2022 album Back For Everything, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 60,000 first-week sales. It spawned the smash hit “Super Gremlin,” which enjoyed similar success on the Billboard Hot 100 while being certified platinum by the RIAA.
