Kodak Black has reacted to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump making false claims about Haitian immigrants eating cats and dogs in Ohio.

During a recent concert in Columbus, Ohio, Kodak addressed the claims after playing a clip of Trump saying: “Of course I’m angry. We got 21 million people that came into our country invading our communities, invading our cities and our towns, and destroying our country.

“I’m angry about Venezuelan gangs taking over Aurora, Colorado, and I’m angry about illegal Haitian migrants taking over Springfield, Ohio. You see that mess, don’t you?”

Kodak then responded to Trump’s remarks, commenting: “That shit crazy. That shit true? Man, I ain’t gonna lie, homie, I’m a muthafucking Trump supporter.”

After boos from the crowd, the Florida rapper continued: “I’m Haitian. How y’all feel about this election shit? I feel like we fucked anyway. I ain’t with that Kamala Harris shit either. What the fuck going on in America?”

Yak then pledged to investigate the claims personally: “I’m finna go to Springfield tomorrow, I’m going over there. I gotta see this shit. I ain’t smelling that. I ain’t see no Haitian eat no cat, homie. When y’all show me a Haitian eating a cat, then y’all can say that shit.”

The outrageous claims about Haitian immigrants eating cats were started by Springfield resident Erika Lee after a neighbor’s feline had gone missing.

She alleges she was told the cat had been attacked by Haitians in the area and then posted the claim online.

America’s Voice, a charity that advocates for immigration reform, criticized the spread of conspiracy theories on social media, which have been fueled by Trump referencing them in his recent presidential debate with Democratic opponent Kamala Harris.

They told NBC News: “The Haitian-American community in Springfield, Ohio, and around the country is feeling targeted and unsafe because dehumanizing, debunked and racist conspiracies are being advanced at the highest levels of American politics and are still being repeated.

“The false claim that black immigrants are violently attacking American families by stealing and eating their pets is a powerful and old racist trope that puts a target on people’s backs, and it is turbo-charged in the era of MAGA when political violence has become commonplace and we have already witnessed violent incidents incited by such rhetoric.”
