Killer Mike has always been one to speak his mind when it comes to social issues.
On Friday (April 24), Mike initiated a talk with students of MIT in Cambridge about being an independent artist and major label influence on artists.
“What El-P said 20 years ago was right–be independent as fuck,” he said when asked about the major label construct in Hip Hop music (via Billboard). “If you want to pull out of that construct, you have to start your own farm. If you’re an abolitionist, you’re not going to get money from the federal government, so you have to get it on your own.”
The Atlanta native also took aim at educational institutions and says they’re afraid to approach certain subjects.
“Colleges get scared when people write mean shit about the people they bring,” he said after prefacing that MIT asked him not to speak about it, “I’m here because I’m qualified to be here… I’m not here to get you to buy a CD … I believe in smart people … The intelligence in this room is the only thing that can save this country.”
Killer Mike answered numerous other questions during the night including everything from education to the success of white rappers. Mike was also recently invited to the White House Corespondents Dinner set to take place Saturday night (April 24).

Where the fuck is Ja Rule?
As Cash Money Records’ personal accountant, I can confirm that Killer Mike is lying. Back in 2012 he tried to sign with Cash Money following frustrations with T.I. and Grand Hustle, but negotiations broke down due to him being greedy and wanting to be paid $100 million for his recording contract.
bullshit
Wow after all of these years you’re still trolling in the comments section? Give it up dentaldamboy, you are not funny.
UUUUUUGGHHHHHHH!!!
Looking on Wiki, Michael “Killer Mike” Render (born April 20, 1975) does not offer a family background so after reading his lyrics I am going to assume like many Rapper and Hip Hoppers Michael was a victim of child abuse, neglect or abandonment.
Reading the juvenile lyrics Michael “Killer Mike” Render writes and performs I have to question why he demeans his brothers and sisters characterizing them as unworthy humans or people who are less than human?
After reading KILLER MIKE LYRICS “So Glorious” it seems apparent he is a seriously emotionally disturbed man who is doing nothing constructive to heal people and communities…unless he believes this is how people open a dialogue for unity:
Go to the room where the svcka’ nivvas sit
Sit around and talk some of that svcka nivva shvt
The way y’all cackling [?] is like y’all svcking nivva’s divk
