Kidz In The Hall Enlist Rakim For Remix

    From Bun B [click to read], to The Clipse [click to read] to Black Milk, Kidz In The Hall [click to read] had a large supporting cast on their The In Crowd sophomore release [click to read]. However, after plenty of success with the original version and remix of “Drivin’ Down The Block,” [click to view] the group plans to add legendary Rakim to their list of collaborators for a remix of “Blackout.” The opening track is one of two on The In Crowd that featured no guest appearance.

    Today, Kidz emcee Naledge told Chicago-based music blog RubyHornet.com about the meaningful union. “We haven’t recorded it yet, but [Rakim] wants to get in the studio in the upcoming week or two, hopefully before we leave for Europe,” said the Chicago native. Naledge is also expected to blog for RubyHornet.com while the duo tours with upcoming Rock The Bells after dates with Paid Dues.

    Earlier this year, Rakim released Lost & Found [click to read], a collection of live material with some bonus tracks of unreleased studio work. The iconic emcee remains working on his The Seventh Seal, which would be his first studio effort since 1999’s The Master.
