The Kid LAROI has shared a “super personal” tribute to fallen rapper Juice WRLD, a track called “Where Does Your Spirit Go?”

The 19-year-old Australian rapper — who first performed the track at Coachella on Saturday (April 15) — dropped the official audio on YouTube on Friday (April 21).

Following up the YouTube audio with an Instagram post, discussing the tribute to Juice and his late friend Saiko, and all his loved ones who are no longer among the living.

“This wasn’t in the release plans but I played it this weekend at coachella and I just felt like the time was right for some reason,” he wrote in the post. “this one means a lot to me. it’s super personal. it’s a song about loss, grieving and dealing with the thoughts and emotions that come with that.

He added: “I pray for all of you who are going through something similar currently and I hope this helps you feel a little less alone in all of it. I love you guys, and thanks for everything.”

“Where Does Your Spirit Go?” is the latest single from The Kid LAROI’s forthcoming album, The First Time, following the tracks “Love Again” and “The Kids Are Growing Up (Part 1).” No official release date has been announced for the album yet, but it’s expected to drop sometime in 2023.

The Kid LAROI’s debut mixtape F*ck Love debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, which features his biggest song to date, “Go” featuring his late friend and mentor Juice WRLD.

The song was certified platinum by the RIAA in December, clocking in over 145 million streams on Spotify. LAROI owes a lot of his artistry to Juice since he took the Australian native under his wing before he passed.

In addition to “Where Does Your Spirit Go?,” The Kid LAROI can also be found on NBA Youngboy‘s latest track, “What You Say,” which also arrived on Friday and features Post Malone.
