    1. well done Kendrick. you made it nigga, without havin to put that broad Gaga on your album. watch these haters hate on you because of your “stans”, which is just code for I’m too much of a hipster to ride with what’s poppin.

      1. Exactly, without a corny popstar on his album. See greedy executives(Jimmy Iovine), you don’t have to have corny popstars on rappers albums to sell.

    2. Not gold in my book till it hits 500,000 sales to consumers, but still congrats to Kendrick for dropping after Ross/2Chainz with a trillionth the promotion and buzz and out selling them.

      1. I’m pretty sure the last few weeks KL has been ahead of Ross’ sales but I guess I could be wrong. And again I know he sold 500,000 to retailers. Its more important to sell 500,000 to fans in my opinion.

      2. ross hasnt sold more of his 2012 album to date, but yeah obviously the guy with 5 or 6 albums has sold more than the guy who put out his 2nd album

    3. Congrats Kendrick! 500K is big today and will probably be the only hip hop album this year to surpass it. Ross has shipped 500K, but he’s not gonna sell that much by years end.

      1. There was a time when labels would over ship a release and be plagued with buybacks from retailers for actual moving units (exchange), but since that and the actual physical sales decline, no one’s overstocking. You guys are making it like there’s over a hundred thousand copies out there on the shelf so the early certification(s) are unjust.

    4. LMFAOOO THIS NIGGA JUST RECEIVED HIS GOLD PLAQUE?! WAYNE GOT HIS PLATINUM ONE IN 7 DAYS…HENCE THE FACT THAT K DOT ADMITTED WEEZY WAS A LEGEND AND FOLLOWED WHAT HIS LEGACY HAD GIVEN TO THE GAME

      1. first off ho, that was in 08. ok. lot more niggas going platinum by then so fuck wayne

50 going plat in four days.. again that was what? motherfuckin’ 02!? or 04? Whatever, that was still a god damn decade ago, that has no comparison here

      1. I’m dickriding you now Game, My Life was a cry for your attention. Please come back, G-Unit is nothing without you! My album got moved to next year because Jesus Piece would kill my sales :O

    5. Congrats too k dot!! This man did what so many cant do now days, make a REAL rap album, be lyrical, have content, and get mainstream attn while reaching gold status.

Major prop to ma nigga kendrick!

Cant wait til he get that Platinum!

    6. Good news. Now watch a lot of rappers trying to be more lyrical and creative. Most of them will fail cuz you need talent for that.

    7. Congrats to the nigga Kendrick. Album was fire. For yall niggas on here talkin shit bout Ross, why yall niggas gotta bring Ross up in every article. Yall hatin ass niggas are the real Ross stans. Article aint even bout Rozay and niggas brigin him up. This album was fire, so what the fuck Ross gotta do wit it. FYI to all you dumbass niggas, GFID already gold and a fuckin classic. Keep hatin.

      Bawse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    8. Does anybody know what Kendrick’s Control System album sold? I think it was under rated and I actually like that one better because Kendrick had real lyrics on that album, especially terrorism threats. I also think Dr. Dre has fallen off with the beat making. He produced Good Kid Made City, but most of the beats were not good at all. He needs to just retire. Anyways K. Doc is still my favorite rapper right now, but is just signed to the wrong label. He needs to work more with New York emcees like J Cole and Asap Rocky.

      1. As QBN said, ‘Control System’ was Ab-Soul. Also, Dr. Dre didn’t make any of the beats on ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’, and J.Cole is from North Carolina not New York. I suppose you may’ve meant that K.Dot should work with more NY MCs like J. Cole, meaning similar to how Cole works with a lot of NY MCs, but I doubt it since you also named A$ap Rocky, who is an emcee from New York…

      2. As far as your broader point goes though, I think Kendrick has a really unique sound and style, that he doesn’t really need to muddy up on his own projects. He is very distinctively west coast, so I don’t think switching that up to an east coast sound would fit him well. Basically, if it aint broke, don’t fix it.

      3. This guy is the best troll ever. but to be fair yaall have absolutely no common sense so its not hard to clown you. even yessir got yall emotional

      4. I’ll admit if he’s trolling his subtly is brilliant. In retrospect it makes a lot of sense because he literally got everything wrong, which is kind of hard to do by accident lol, so kudos on the excellent troll-job Eye Control.

      5. I haven’t been on here much since they changed up the site, and that was over a year ago at least, so I’m not real up on who the trolls are and what not.

      6. 1. you’re trolling comments always are way too obvious.
        2. at least use a different name each time so that everyone commenting routinely doesn’t know it’s you every time

    9. a side from that backseat freestyle the best thing about this album was the interludes thru each song smh at ya kendrick dick riders seeking for a 2012 nas cut that shit out ya new cats a never be better r come close to the 90’s era

      1. Backseat Freestyle is the shit. when you take in the whole storytelling aspect of the LP it fits(a young K-dot gettin it). it’s one of the weaker songs on the record for sure, but the beat kills it

    10. dont get me wrong doe kendrick is what hip hip been missing cuss it aint to much mcs nowadays but he overrated cuss ya niggas make it seem like he the best thing since water all you fool ass niggas thats just getting hip to lyrics new york been on dat shit n as far as story telling ice cube been doing that shit from the west coast one of the most underrated albums on the west is bg knocc out & dresta real brothers album that ya niggas never hear about why cuss it was in the 90’s were it was good music everywhere if them niggas would of came out with that album now ya niggas would be all over it p.s. kendrick flow wack he need to master that shit good lyrics doe

      1. i know exactly what hiphop is im just not a dickhead sheep like you fuck niggas da kid got good lyrics his flow wack to me nigga period everybody aint gotta fill special about a nigga thats doing what niggas been doing he aint as different as ya niggas think

      2. @Words of a Bitch NIgga

Co-sign, half of these real (read 90’s) hip hop fans would be talking shit about Pac or Biggie if they released their debut albums nowadays and I agree with that last part Kendrick really should step his flow game up cause he sounds like a fucking mouse

      3. @shitty shaggy you dont know dat because who’s too say they would sale out n fall into this mainstream bullshit rappers nowadays do Wu-Block put out they album real hiphop heads aint have shit bad to say about that bitch nigga

      4. ain’t a damn thing wrong with Kendrick flow, not everyone gotta sound like DMX nigga

and second, why do you care about how people like him if he’s nice. niggas who care about a rapper’s fanbase are wack, fuck the others, do YOU like him or not is the question, Nas stans annoy me more than anything but you don’t see turn on the nigga cause he’s more than nice on the mic

      5. @Word Is Bond Like My Pussy

Nigga I gave you a shout out and you hating me like a lil bitch, fuck is wrong with you, you fronting like your game is much better FUCK YOU AND EVERYBODY YOU LOVE BITCH

    11. You people fail to recoginize Straight Outta Compton, Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt and the Slin Shady LP all didn’t sell fantastic numbers on their first weeks yet they’re all considered classics

    12. Lil Wayne leaves his imprint all over the rap game. On the other hand, Jay-Z leaves a crater of toxic waste wherever he has been.

      1. You got that mixed up, you fucking idiot. Jay Z leaves his imprint all over the rap game. Lil Wayne leaves a crater of toxic waste wherever he has been. Besides, Lil Wayne had nothing to do with Kendrick’s success.

    13. Congrats to Kendrick. GKMC is good hip-hop album, and he deserves the rewards for his great work on the album. Nice news.
