Kendrick Lamar is readying for his Super Bowl halftime performance in an unusual way — by dropping a merch collection with designer Willy Chavarria.
The collection — a collab between Lamar’s pgLang company, Chavarria and the NFL — consists, per Hypebeast, of a satin jacket, hoodies, t-shirts, jerseys, and shorts.

Some of the pieces have lyrics from Lamar’s track “TV Off,” while other items have “g.NATIONAL” written on them. The latter appears to be a reference to the rapper’s forthcoming Grand National Tour with SZA.
Chavarria and Kendrick have worked together before. The designer created looks for the Big Steppers Tour and the “Not Like Us” video.

Excitement for Lamar’s halftime show was recently fueled by his former label boss Top Dawg.
On Monday (January 27), the TDE founder shared a picture on Instagram of him and Kendrick’s longtime manager Dave Free overseeing a rehearsal for the big performance, which is expected to be watched by over 100 million people worldwide.

The duo didn’t dish any details about what fans can expect from the show, although Top Dawg promised “it’s about to be a movie.”
Super Bowl LIX takes place on February 9 in New Orleans and will see defending champions Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles for the second time in three years.

One thing for certain is that Kendrick will be joined by SZA for the highly-anticipated performance.
The announcement was made last week in a new trailer for the halftime show released by Apple Music.
In the clip, K.Dot can be seen making a phone call on a football field and as he begins to say he’s been thinking about a guest performance, SZA appears from behind and dumps Gatorade on him.
It will be fans’ first taste of what they can expect from Kendrick and SZA’s co-headlining Grand National Tour later this year.

The 23-date trek will see the “Luther” collaborators will play arenas across North America together between April and June in support of their respective latest projects, GNX and SOS Deluxe: Lana.
A joint project between the pair has also been floated, with SZA recently saying in an interview with Sherri Shepherd: “I would love that. I think that would be amazing. [Kendrick’s] such a genius.”
