Kendrick Lamar‘s Super Bowl halftime show is less than two weeks away, and excitement for it has been fueled by his former label boss Top Dawg.
On Monday (January 27), the TDE founder shared a picture on Instagram of him and Kendrick’s longtime manager Dave Free overseeing a rehearsal for the big performance, which is expected to be watched by over 100 million people worldwide.

The duo didn’t dish any details about what fans can expect from the show, although Top Dawg promised “it’s about to be a movie.”
Super Bowl LIX takes place on February 9 in New Orleans and will see defending champions Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles for the second time in three years.
One thing for certain is that Kendrick will be joined by SZA for the highly-anticipated performance.
The announcement was made last week in a new trailer for the halftime show released by Apple Music.

In the clip, K. Dot can be seen making a phone call on a football field and as he begins to say he’s been thinking about a guest performance, SZA appears from behind and dumps Gatorade on him.
It will be fans’ first taste of what they can expect from Kendrick and SZA’s co-headlining Grand National Tour later this year.
The 23-date trek will see the “Luther” collaborators will play arenas across North America together between April and June in support of their respective latest projects, GNX and SOS Deluxe: Lana.
A joint project between the pair has also been floated, with SZA recently saying in an interview with Sherri Shepherd: “I would love that. I think that would be amazing. [Kendrick’s] such a genius.”

It has also been rumored that Tyler, The Creator might pop out as a special guest during Kendrick’s Super Bowl halftime show.
Various clues in the aforementioned promo pointed to this, including possible references to Tyler’s Chromakopia album and “Hey Now” remix.

Tyler is also no stranger to making surprise appearances during historic Kendrick performances as he hit the stage at his Pop Out concert in Inglewood last summer with no prior announcement.
Special guests during the Super Bowl halftime performance are commonplace, with last year’s event seeing Usher joined by the likes of Ludacris and Lil Jon.
