New Orleans, LA

Snoop Dogg, SZA and Jay Rock are among many Hip Hop stars who have offered reactions to Kendrick Lamar‘s historic Super Bowl halftime show.

The first solo rapper to headline the big game, Kendrick delivered a scintillating 15-minute performance on Sunday night (February 9) that left little doubt on his claim of being the best rapper alive.

Snoop, who had ruffled K.Dot’s feathers during his beef with Drake last year by appearing to support the 6 God, filmed himself watching the performance at home.

There was no doubt that Tha Doggfather was riding for his fellow California native as he offered encouraging commentary throughout, saying: “The West Coast is the shit, you hear me? Get ’em, Dot. Get ’em, nephew.”

Snoop also rapped along to “HUMBLE,” clearly loving the performance.

SZA, who joined Kendrick on stage for duets of “All the Stars” and “Luther,” paid tribute to her former TDE labelmate for giving her the opportunity to be a part of the show.

“THANK YOU @kendricklamar for consistently putting the world on your back. At all times,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for lifting me up. Thank you for encouraging me and being so willing to bend to whatever I may need. Thank you to your incredible team and mine!

“You’re a prophet. But you knew that. I wasn’t nervous today. I was ready to rep for u. For US. Thank you God, Dot, and the NFL for this opportunity #SUPERBOWL2025 wrapped.”

Kendrick’s longtime friend and collaborator Jay Rock also commented on X (formerly Twitter): “K DOT [ok hand emojis[ [fire emojis] killed it!!!!” while fellow TDE star Doechii added: “Congratulations SZA and Kendrick! So proud of yall so inspired.”

SZA’s longtime manager and TDE president Terrence “Punch” Henderson tweeted: “Great night. Super proud watching Dot take the biggest stage. And then to bring SZA out was everything. Another moment. Historic,” before declaring that Kendrick Lamar is now his favorite rapper of all time ahead of the likes of JAY-Z, 2Pac and Biggie.

Jermaine Dupri, who made a guest appearance during Usher‘s Super Bowl halftime show last year, was also a fan of the show, writing on X: “Dope performance, no back track, breath control, choreography, skits, straight rap shit.”

Fellow Atlanta native Killer Mike also loved the purity of the performance, saying: “And That Was That ‘RAP SHIT.’ Wow, brilliant.”

An astonished Chris Brown simply wrote on his Instagram Stories: “WOW!!!!!!!!!!! DOT” along with a fire emoji.

Kendrick’s “Complexion (A Zulu Love)” collaborator Rapsody was equally full of praise, saying: “Kendrick. Brilliant.”

Public Enemy legend Flavor Flav particularly enjoyed how the whole Caesars Superdome joined Lamar in dissing his archrival Drake as he performed “Not Like Us”: “The way the WHOLE stadium just yelled ‘A MINOOOOOOOOOORRRRR.'”

Kendrick’s Super Bowl halftime show also earned plaudits from figures outside of Hip Hop including Ben Stiller, Magic Johnson and NFL legend Deion Sanders.
