Snoop Dogg, SZA, Jay Rock & More React To Kendrick Lamar’s Historic Super Bowl Performance

Snoop Dogg, SZA and Jay Rock are among many Hip Hop stars who have offered reactions to Kendrick Lamar‘s historic Super Bowl halftime show.

The first solo rapper to headline the big game, Kendrick delivered a scintillating 15-minute performance on Sunday night (February 9) that left little doubt on his claim of being the best rapper alive.

Snoop, who had ruffled K.Dot’s feathers during his beef with Drake last year by appearing to support the 6 God, filmed himself watching the performance at home.

There was no doubt that Tha Doggfather was riding for his fellow California native as he offered encouraging commentary throughout, saying: “The West Coast is the shit, you hear me? Get ’em, Dot. Get ’em, nephew.”

Snoop also rapped along to “HUMBLE,” clearly loving the performance.

SZA, who joined Kendrick on stage for duets of “All the Stars” and “Luther,” paid tribute to her former TDE labelmate for giving her the opportunity to be a part of the show.

“THANK YOU @kendricklamar for consistently putting the world on your back. At all times,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for lifting me up. Thank you for encouraging me and being so willing to bend to whatever I may need. Thank you to your incredible team and mine!

“You’re a prophet. But you knew that. I wasn’t nervous today. I was ready to rep for u. For US. Thank you God, Dot, and the NFL for this opportunity #SUPERBOWL2025 wrapped.”

Kendrick’s longtime friend and collaborator Jay Rock also commented on X (formerly Twitter): “K DOT [ok hand emojis[ [fire emojis] killed it!!!!” while fellow TDE star Doechii added: “Congratulations SZA and Kendrick! So proud of yall so inspired.”

SZA’s longtime manager and TDE president Terrence “Punch” Henderson tweeted: “Great night. Super proud watching Dot take the biggest stage. And then to bring SZA out was everything. Another moment. Historic,” before declaring that Kendrick Lamar is now his favorite rapper of all time ahead of the likes of JAY-Z, 2Pac and Biggie.

Jermaine Dupri, who made a guest appearance during Usher‘s Super Bowl halftime show last year, was also a fan of the show, writing on X: “Dope performance, no back track, breath control, choreography, skits, straight rap shit.”

Fellow Atlanta native Killer Mike also loved the purity of the performance, saying: “And That Was That ‘RAP SHIT.’ Wow, brilliant.”

An astonished Chris Brown simply wrote on his Instagram Stories: “WOW!!!!!!!!!!! DOT” along with a fire emoji.

Kendrick’s “Complexion (A Zulu Love)” collaborator Rapsody was equally full of praise, saying: “Kendrick. Brilliant.”

Public Enemy legend Flavor Flav particularly enjoyed how the whole Caesars Superdome joined Lamar in dissing his archrival Drake as he performed “Not Like Us”: “The way the WHOLE stadium just yelled ‘A MINOOOOOOOOOORRRRR.'”

Kendrick’s Super Bowl halftime show also earned plaudits from figures outside of Hip Hop including Ben Stiller, Magic Johnson and NFL legend Deion Sanders.

    1. The glazing is crazy his former label mates, affiliates, and boomers desperate to fit in. Show was ass! Should have been Wayne. Notice his people glazed Jay-Z too SMH glaze the Diddy partner. Wayne was robbed all because of Jay-Z!! That show was awful.

      1. Nah. The show was fire. And the entire audience called the Certified Loverboy a pedo (and millions of people who were watching on TV) 🤣 Kendrick didn’t give a sh!t about drakes lame ass lawsuit

    2. Stop the cap this was garbage. Dave Blunts would have been way better than this if he sat on a couch the whole time he’s songs are actually good. Kendrick is not a performer he’s more poet he’s not like Ye or Carti. Drake sucks too.

      1. Now who’s capping. Dave Blunts is wack AF. You sound like a bitter housewife. Kendrick is a way better performer than 90 percent of the rappers out there and I’m not a big fan of his but even I know that’s a fact.

    3. The show was trash should have been Wayne not this. I swear the Kendrick stans are just annoying they just like the joke of Drake being called a pdf that’s it. I swear we’re getting to a dangerous point in society where that word will carry no weight to it anymore and that stuff will be legal the same way we mocked the alphabet y’all are mocking the pdf’s and they’ll come back with revenge.

      1. All these people are talking about. Not if the music was good. Welcome to Stan culture. It’s reminiscent of when the Barbs didn’t tell Nicki that wack diss she put out early last year and how she was going on those rants wasn’t it. Like this is your favorite artist. Demand better. I have secondhand embarrassment.

    4. Bunch of folks like damn, I’m glad he didn’t ask me to get up there and be part of the worst halftime show anybody is going to remember, lol.

      1. You’ve been talking about the Halftime Show all day . If it was that bad, you wouldn’t be thinking about it 24/7. I thought the Rihana Show a few years ago was horrible, but I didn’t talk about it nonstop afterwards. You drake groupies are the worst, and it’s always the male ones who get most upset lol

      2. It’s a hip hop site to comment on after the biggest event of the year. I know though, your white ass doesn’t live and breathe hip hop like that though. Go make some mayo sandwiches.

      3. I also love how anyone who criticizes the messiah gets called a drake fan. You might want to check who I am since I’ve shit on Drake and his repetitive music plenty. If you’re going to put this shitty stuff in my face at the biggest event of the year, I’m damn sure going to comment on it. Anything else dickhead?
