Dr. Dre has kept Detox in limbo for years and failed to deliver on its release after a string of promises. During an interview with Puna.nl, Kendrick Lamar says that the two linked up with one another to start working on some music, which led to the inevitable delay for Detox so that they could record more tracks.
“Detox got pushed ot the back just because my album, Dre really found interest in my music. Wanted me to go forward and push that immediately. That’s a great thing. I’ve heard the records on Detox, they’re insane, and the opportunity to be on that is a privilege and an honor.”
