Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ Covered By Will Ferrell In ‘SNL’ 50th Anniversary Special

Kendrick Lamar‘s “Not Like Us” has received the Saturday Night Live treatment thanks to Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer.

During the sketch comedy show’s 50th anniversary special this past weekend, Ferrell and Gasteyer reprised their classic roles as music teachers Marty and Bobbi Culp to cover a host of modern hits.

In character, Ferrell introduced their unlikely rendition of “Not Like Us” by saying: β€œAre Kenny Lamar and Drake Graham in the house? By the way, maybe you two can hug it out tonight in the name of love and fellowship. No? Not in hell. Message received.”

The comedy duo then launched into a comedic cover of the chart-topping Drake diss track, with the Anchorman star, even saying the iconic and controversial “Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophile” line.

Ferrell and Gasteyer also stretched out Kendrick’s witty “A minor” taunt into a lengthy, operatic segment.

The Compton rapper’s former TDE labelmate Doechii also featured in the Culps’ sketch as the pair performed a brief cover of “Denial is a River,” from her Grammy-winning mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal.

Another notable moment during the anniversary show was a performance by Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean as they reunited two-thirds of the Fugees.

The duo, who performed without Pras, turned up on time and ran through four songs, including a couple of Hill solo tracks with some help from The Roots.

The Philadelphia band also backed Lil Wayne as he ran through a medley of hits including “Lollipop,” “Mrs. Officer” and “A Milli” after being introduced by Dave Chappelle.

There were also notable musical performances from Paul McCartney, Sabrina Carpenter, Jack White, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Post Malone, among many others.

While Kendrick Lamar did not appear at the SNL special, more than enough people saw him perform “Not Like Us,” among other hits, during his historic Super Bowl halftime show earlier this month.

The performance, which featured appearances from SZA, Mustard, Serena Williams and Samuel L. Jackson, was viewed by a staggering 133.5 million viewers.

It is the most-watched Super Bowl show in history, as well as the most-watched U.S. TV broadcast of all time.

Michael Jackson previously held the record with 133 million viewers with his iconic 1993 Super Bowl performance.

    1. drake a pedophile so where are the police who are the victims who are the offenders is the neighbourhood being made aware maybe put on a sex offender registry

      1. Drake’s not a pedo. Remember he fed Kendrick the information. Drake’s a gay man who’d rather be accused of being a pedo than a butt pirate who gets his ass ate on a dinner plate before he flips a man over and penetrates

    2. What kinda pedofile dates a manly looking woman 5 years older than him? Serena Williams should be called a pedo, not Drake.

    3. Snl is extremely cringe. Idk how anyone at all finds it funny. Last time it was remotely good was back when it was the Adam Sandler and Chris Farley days. Will Ferrel was funny for his time, but looking back he really isn’t at all funny.
