Kendrick Lamar Morphs Into Nipsey Hussle, Kanye West, OJ Simpson + More In ‘The Heart Part 5’ Video

Kendrick Lamar finally (FINALLY!) delivered a new video and single for “The Heart Part 5” on Sunday (May 8). The elusive rapper made the announcement via Twitter, elating his fans who’ve been waiting patiently (or perhaps not so patiently) for nearly five years for more K. Dot solo material to surface.

While Kendrick’s hair has grown longer and he’s now entering his mid-30s, his lyrical prowess is as sharp as ever he morphs into pop culture figures such as Will Smith, Nipsey Hussle, Kanye West, OJ Simpson, Jussie Smollett and Kobe Bryant. The lyrics often cleverly align with the person he’s resembling; he raps about bipolar disorder when he’s Kanye, murder when he transforms into Nip and living in a “land where hurt people hurt more people” when he’s Smith.

Kendrick Lamar Hints At 'Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers' Being A Double Album

Directed by Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar himself, the visual begins with the quote, “I am. All Of Us.” It’s also the first offering from his forthcoming album (and last for Top Dawg Entertainment) Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. The project is expected to arrive on Friday (May 13). Until then, check out the video below.

      1. TI sucks ass. He ain’t been shit since his KING album. Are you one of Tiny and Tip’s sex slaves?

    1. Kendrick Lamar and Nas sit on the mountain top of hip hop period. I respect Snoop of course and Jay-z and Eminem but Kendrick and Nas set the bar with creativity and knowledge. Straight fire. This is grown educated thinking forward rap period. This is what the cultural needs. Something that makes you think and inspire us as a community. Much needed King Kendrick.

      1. Damn Bro., I can’t even leave a comment now. You said everything I was going to say…LOL…I second your comment fa sho!

    2. It’s Mr morale and the BIG steppers. Jesus christ its all over the internet, hire an editor.

      1. Exactly, I respect Kendrick, and this is only my own subjective opinion, but I’m surprised at how many people go crazy for this stuff, his music is sterile, gaudy and uninspired to me. There’s nothing raw or authentic here. The track totally sounds like it was played by lounge band session musicians, he could’ve just sampled Marvin. Peace

    3. I like kendrick I think he’s the best rapper along Big Krit and Gibbs. But I haven’t been a fan of Kendricks albums. And yes you can know someone is a great talent but not really be a fan of their work. But this song right here is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. Wow! is all i can say

    4. When he morphed into Nip, did he share his lady with another man in a threesome too?

    5. If you’re a Hip Hop fan, I don’t know how you do not appreciate this creativity, knowledge, delivery, etc. This is Hip Hop, this track represents the purpose of Hip Hop. Truly genius, I’ve listened to this 5 times already and after every listen I utter the word WOW. Thank you Kendrick Lamar, I needed this.

    6. Wow! The level of dickriding is strong on this one. Don’t get me wrong: Kendrick is a good rapper and he is consistent in his craft. But this track is not THAT dope. It’s a shame that today’s music is rated by sheep who do not think by themselves. What a great time to be alive.

      1. Dick riding? Hate doesn’t look good on you. This young man is special, and this shot is dope. Sad lmmfao

        1. Special huh? Wake up motherfucker!! These celebrities don’t pay your bills nor your health care. You worshipping another human being is sad.

    7. why would he turn into jussie? everyone from every race knew he was lying. maga hats at 2am on southside chiraq. ya ok.

    8. This is about to be his 4th masterpiece. Top 5 all time on this fact alone. I’m just shocked that so many people still love great Hip Hop and not bamboozled by auto tune and crooning all day in a verse.
