Kendrick Lamar Met With President Obama

Kendrick Lamar met with President Obama in October while the rapper was in town to perform at the Kennedy Center, according to Valerie JarrettSenior Advisor to the President of the United States and Assistant to the President for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs in the Obama administration.

“He came and he visited the president, and you know what the president said to him?” Jarrett says during an interview with BuzzFeed’s Another Round podcast

“[Because] he was a little nervous,” Jarrett continues, “bless his heart, he’s really a very nice young man, and the president said, ‘Can you believe that we’re both sitting in this Oval Office?’”

In December, President Obama said that Kendrick Lamar’s “How Much A Dollar Cost” was his favorite song of 2015.

The cut is featured on the Compton, California rapper’s To Pimp A Butterfly album, which helped Lamar land 11 Grammy nominations.

    1. You know its a sad fucking day for AFrican Americans when Blacks like @T Dot say that Kendrick is the PERFECT Role model for the youth. I dont even know what to say to people like you because you totally live on a different Planet, you are brainwashed and programmed to stupid. Dont get me wrong I like TPABF but what POSITIVE message are you talking about? The very first song on the album goes like this; “At first I did Love You, But NOW I JUST WANNA FUCK!”. Are you talking about the skit where Kendrick stops GROWN MEN from fighting at his concert? Is that supposed to be ENLIGHTENING or sum shit. GTFOH

      1. Sheesh people like you are just against postivity. You didn’t even try to understand the album or the concepts that’s why you don’t see the positive messages in it. The only one brain washed is you. Your probably a Drake fan, who doesn’t give a damn about his people. The line was talking about the the rap game. He used to love it until he got it and he just started to want to use it for his own gains. The whole album was a double entendre, for the rap game and the way the U.S treats black people. What about the song How much a Dollar Cost, Complexion, Blacker the Berry. Plenty of postive vibes. Actually listen to his other albums to see what Kendrick is about before you open up your filthy mouth.
