    1. Sounds like underground KDot….which is a good thing. I can judge an entire album on this one song but this song and the receipe and others that I’ve heard got me really excited about the album. Can’t wait for Q to drop his album though. Him and Rock are my favorites.

    2. I’m here because I thought Section.80 was kewl, but this sounds nothing like it. Not feeling it at all. Oh well.

There is no way these beats were going to be on Detox. If they were suppose to be on it, then no wonder Dre has been scrapping the album for the last 10+ years.

    3. Sounds good, but no such bangers like Game had on Documentary, too bad. Think the production is little average too. Missin the old westcoast sound. And features could have been better, Cube, Snoop, Game, and more dem westcoast artists.

    4. sounding good, but I think GAME still holds the WEST COAST CROWN..support RED yall..hiphop lives on with Game..

    5. I’m a huge K Dot fan, but in all honest this just does not sound good. Still gonna cop the album to listen as a whole, but the snippets really dont do it justice

    6. come on nigga, ja rule be shakin’ cocks in jail, keepin’ it real and you can’t call this nigga for a feature? damn son

    7. Ja rule needs to fuck this nigga up ’cause he didn’t invite him for a collab, come on son

    8. real talk, ja rule got the best voice in tha mothafuckin’ industry, plus he be goin’ wild with tha crutch

      1. Bitch Please… We done heard the snippets, we know at least 1/3 of the album. I dont need to hear the whole thing to know my expectations just got lowered substantially.

Dre, Kanye….. cats like these guys is just puttin their name on other ppl shit these days.

Not one dre beat. NOT ONE. GTFOH

Dre didn’t EXECUTIVE PRODUCE shit. I bet u he wasn’t even at HALF those sessions. Any after all that whackness nat ONE Dre beat.

        Fuck Aftermath

      1. Game is tiring.. really new song is “celebration” with lil wayne and he is west coast? ha. please dude name drops that’s it. Kendrick has lyrics

      2. only game’s first 2 albums sounded westcoast & now the dude sounds desperate, making tracks with those weak fools & kendrick got lyrics but his beat selection is terrible in my opinion, he doesnt have the westcoast style

    9. THAT MARY J BLIGE SONG BANGS,I AM BUYING ONLY FIVE SONGS ON ITUNES THAT ALBUM IS NOT WEST COAST AT ALL KENDRIK IS NOT KING OF WEST COAST

    10. Backseat Freestyle goes insanely hard…

M.a.a.D. City crazy beat.. can’t wait to hear the whole album.. sounds like sex

    11. pls im a game fan but he aint in the same class as kendrick fact kendricks a true poet and as for ja rule he is more likley to bite your cock off than make a good track SMH THIS IS REAL HIPHOP

    12. disappointed

the recipe, swimming pools and art of peer pressure are dope though

but i expected the same quality as far as the other tracks

      1. agreed. I’m trying to keep an open mind with this kid but most of his shit don’t make your head nod at all

      2. You want head nod go listen to Sean Price snippets. But this kendrick sound good too. Gotta keep a variety of music and not get caught up on the same shit all the time.

      3. dog i don’t know who gucci is and i’m not really interested to find out but thanks…say what you want but the west coast music i know and love got those bumpin’, head nodding, ride out all day kinda groove to em…obviously k.dot ain’t going for that and that’s cool but you can make songs with neck snappin beats and still be lyrical…he doesn’t and it’s all good, imma still check it out and cop if its hot

    13. This shit is mediocre…I only heard 3 songs I liked. Peoples standards for hiphop have lowered greatly if you think this is a classic or even album of the year.

    14. Mannn fuck what y’all talkin about this album sounds great based off the snippets.. lol what did y’all expect some mainstream money hoes cars and clothes songs? FUCK THAT!! Shit sound dope to me.. Can’t wait for this to drop next week

    15. Surprised at Aftermath releasing this by the sound of the snippet. I’m still going to buy it for Kendricks lyrical content, but from the sounds of those beats they are really dormant, you can’t have lyrics and no beats these days. This is the first time I have really thought that Dre doesn’t give a shit anymore. No way anything with no musical feel to it would be released on the math, it just sounds so lifeless. I know it is only a snippet but to me, I get nothing when listening to those bites

      1. yeah i miss the days when dre used to produce shit for evry1 that he was affiliated with like xzibit,EM,50 etc. now he just slackin

    16. Fags on this site actually hatin on this album? If yall bitch think NAS album was better this you must be old af or just stupid. Fuck outta here with all that hating.

      1. Fags thinking you cant say anything negative. You will fit right into a dictatorship. Why don’t you move to Syria?

    17. Don’t understand why there aren’t any dre beats on his 1st lp??? I thought they did a ridiculous amount of songs together, and detox ain’t comin out so where are them tracks Guna end up? Backseat freestyle is sick, money trees sounds sick, poetic justic sounds big. 1st j. Cole gets drake on his first album, now kendrick……album sales eh. I will be buying this album next week

    18. lmfao at all the hate on an album snippets post. Yall don’t like kendrick? GTFO. plain and simple. He’s a lyricist, don’t come here for ignorant poppin bottles hoes and money raps.

      1. Your little game of expletives and saying you are not a Kendrick fan is a poor psychological trick. There are many more people in this world with wiser words to be spoken than any MC, words and music go together and anyone can like or dislike either one of those in any way that they choose. I from the sound of the snippets do not find that “soul” in these musical elements. Why does that offend you so?

    19. This snippets sound amazing, theres not a single track on this that sounds skip ready, this WILL BE THE BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR, this tendency of you so called hiphop fans to build artists up and then hate on them the minute they make it is whats wrong with hiphop. Either you expected this to sound like illmatic if Jesus made it or you just some idiotic hater with nothing to do with his life if you hating on this.
Fuck i use to think it was rappers like 2chains and lil wayne that was wrong with hiphop but nahh, its bitch ass haters like you, either rappers should lower your bitch ass expectations or they get crucified.
      Fuck Yall.
I cant wait for October 22 to get my copy

      1. How would you know if all of these people actually listen to rap? You don’t, all you see is a bunch of comments.

    20. The niggas that say this is boring or wack DO NOT HAVE AN EAR FOR BEATS!!!!GO HOP ON THEM PLAYED OUT TRAP BEATS, IT’S PLENTY OF SOUND A LIKES OUT THERE TOO!!!

    21. this is gonna be a good album but as far the best of the year… that goes to Life is Good, Nas easily takes it.

    22. BEST SOUNDING JOINT W SCOOP DEVILLE SAMPLE OF JANET JACKSON…..HIS PRODUCTION SUSPECT….SECTION 😯 OVERLY DEDICATED WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BETTER…..NO DR DRE BEATS?WILLIE B TAE BEAST BARELY SOUNWAVE…I THOUGHT THIS NIGGA SAID HE WASNT GOING TO CHANGE OL LYIN AZZ…HE SHOULD OF WAITED LONGER AND WORKED HARDER THIS SHIT IS NOT READY…. .the crew should of been on there more too…..this cd would of flew on some underground shhh but nigga please…cd expensive..no dre beats

      1. There is a reason for everything man. Kendrick wanted to get his album out on his own merit. He probably wants Detox to drop first and who knows man. He may have a follow up album next year with mostly Dre beats. What the fuck are you doing with your life man?

    23. There is a clear Aftermath/Interscope influence… the big name producers and some of the features… a major label isn’t going to readily let another album sounding like section.80 drop… it has to sound more commercial… not a bad thing though this still sounds good

    24. I really don’t see why people like this fool and say he is so ground breaking. his voice is annoying and he doesn’t talk about anything ever.

      1. i understand your problem with his voice…but if you really think he doesn’t rap about nothing then that proves you haven’t actually listened to songs he’s made other than the recipe and swimming pools

      2. co-sign lloydc… i understand why people may not like his voice or flow but the guy he’s one of the few rappers who actually make concept songs.

      1. My thoughts exactly, people expecting to here him rhyme over some dre beats, but that is clearly not the case. Reminds me of some harry fraud/smoke dza type shit!!!!!

      1. and illmatic sold 10,000 first week still talked about as one of the greatest albums in the game so what you saying. 10 years from now you won’t remember this debut or J-Cole. Have your own mind quit playing dr.

      2. “so if your message ain’t shit, fuck the records you sold
’cause if you go platinum, it’s got nothing to do with luck
it just means that a million people are stupid as fuck”

Cole fell off, the kid got the full record label treatment, they just packaged him up and spit him out and tried to dictate his album into what they thought would sell, they don’t care what people like cause if they play it on the radio enough everyone will soon start liking it repeat after repeat and it’s all catchy bullshit.

Krit, I’ve never seen the hype around this dude, I checked his shit out and he was doing nothing for me.

Kendrick was hot and to me a dope artist but now they’ve used his buzz and are using it to drop this garbage for the stans to buy so they make money.

Fuck this shit, it is all garbage, just shit that’s gonna get played out and bought by all the fans expecting his big debut to be anything more than horse shit.

The dude should have kept Lady Gaga on this album, because now the snippets are out, this shit sounds like crap and I think he needs a boost in sales that Gaga would have brought. Then again I’m glad she’s not on this and I hope to hell this album flops so that Kendrick fails as an artist and discovers that he fucked up but I bet the guy aint giving a shit as long as he’s got a few hundred bucks.

I’ll cop this album and see if it’s worth buying, but the snippets sound awful compared to the hype, I’m sensing a let down. Of course if I listen to this shit too much it’ll grow on me but I really don’t see myself liking this bullshit.

    25. All ya’ll on Nas dick, and the best album coming out the west this year is xzibits napalm. Bet yall didnt even check for x but he dropped a true classic

    26. This is enough prove that Dr don fell off the radar, the Dre I know would have sent K-dot back to the both a hundred times to perfect this flow. Who executive produced this album? how can someone go from Section 80 standards to THIS. Freestyle and Collect call? what the fuck was they thinking? Damn I cant believe what I am listening to.

    27. People havnt heard the whole album and they already bitchin, guess its true what they say about artists, when they get a lil bit more shine and more people start bumpin them, the haters come in flocks!

    28. I know now who yessir is, look for Budden’s Dreamerz single here and check out that Ramone dude. I can bet u 100 bucks that its him.

    29. fuck kendrick man
      his shit is weak man
wouldnt listen to his song if it featured big pun, pac, and red man
listen to wht i said man
by next year, nigga gon be dead man
or in jail tryin to make bail gettin caught with by the feds man

sorry but i dont listen to a nigga wit no skill
better chance of fndin me sober off of 4 pills
kendricks music, thats that shit i dont like
always talkin shit but when it come down to it, the nigga wont fight
if he hears a dope line ill bet all my dope that he gon bite
gettin his dick sucked by some nappy headed hoe
prolly came in 2 minutes an said its time to go
his hair look like the end of a mop
listened to his song and asked “whens this shit gonna stop”

      1. Yessirr is a hater, Internet Masturbater,She hides behind computers, where knowbody could shoot her, I call him a she cause hes a pussy, the puss from his brain will steam out like a train, Hes jealous of Lamar, cause he can buy cars, big houses, jewelery, You ain’t foolin me, I don’t even rap but your shit sounded whack, you better calm down before you catch a heart attack, your rhymes are so basic, you’ll never fuckin make it

Skill pill ill still hill will jill kill mill fill bill lil nil thrill

Fight bite tight night right kite light sight height might white

Hoe no flow go so yo grow low bow glow joe mow row tow slow

Stop mop top cop flop drop hop bop pop

Leave the rapping to the professions and let people like you and me just enjoy their creations. Too many fools think they can rap then come with basic nursery rhymes.

    30. Hip-Hop is in a dark age. This is mediocre at best. Such a disappointment. J. Cole’s solo album was a disappointment too, anyone who knows quality music can tell you that the production was sub par. Big K.R.I.T. debut was sub par also. People wonder why all these old rappers are still relevant; old rappers are still relevant because none of these new guys put out good enough music to make them seem irrelevant. This shit is sub par. I don’t expect any honesty when it comes to rating this either because most of you guys are stans. This is what has come of the new generation:internet thugs, dick riders, 6th generation bastards and ghetto kids, pretentious pricks who post videos of their sexual exploits on Worldstarhiphop and more concerned with the latest phone instead of what’s happening in the world.

      1. LOLOLOL. Real talk though. This is beyond subpar. I can dig it not sounding like Section 80. But goodness what in the world is this? No emotion. I like maybe 2 songs?

      2. “All of you are idiots.”

I agree. You can’t label an album sub par from 30sec snippets. Its impossible to even work out the subject matter of most of the songs from these snippets. As for the j.cole album being disappointing – I cant deny that. But his catalogue of music is impressive. The way music is being distributed is clearly different from the era of the “old” rappers. A lot of the great music is coming from the mixtapes and the leaked tracks on the net. Jay electronica is a great example of this.

I think as the older generation of hip-hop fans get older (including myself) we can only relate to the older rappers because they are still speaking to us. The newer generation of rappers are not speaking to us they are speaking to a demographic much younger to us. I’m sure alot of the younger generation can relate to rappers like kendrick, j cole etc. I can appreciate it just because it has some sort of substance and thought put into it and is not absolute drivel ie- chief keef type music

      3. As Missy Elliot and Timberland said in a recent interview the new kids of today have no respect for their predecessors, talking about their irrelevant! They crafted hip hop, 10 years ago and so on you would wait years for artists to release music now if they don’t release music yearly they get called irrelevant, get the fuck out here!

    31. THE NEXT GREAT HIP HOP ALBUM WILL BE JAY ELECTRONICA’s DEBUT. THIS WILL BE THE NEXT GREAT MASTERPIECE OF THE LAST 10-15 YEARS. MARK MY WORDS. SECTION 80>Good Kid…

    32. Money Trees
      Sherane
      Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe

Word. It’s tough to live up to the expectations he facin but its solid enough to be a great debut. Its good music with long shelf life just like #Section80

    33. “old rappers are still relevant because none of these new guys put out good enough music to make them seem irrelevant”. This statement was complete bullshit you fucking idiot. Why would you want to make old rappers irrelevant!!?? They were the ones who started this shit, need to pay homage to those cats you price of shit. No matter who comes out with what, old cats will never be irrelevant or never fade out. Peace bitch

      1. You misunderstood my quote or maybe I didn’t say it clear enough. You are right, old rappers paved the way and never should be irrelevant. What I meant is the reason why so many older rappers are still dominating so extensively is because these younger artists aren’t stepping up to the plate. Where is this generation’s classics? No one makes classics anymore. Even the idea of a classic album has been watered down to compensate for the sub par shit these guys are putting out. How can you be the best with out a classic album? Look how easy it is to be considered the next “hip-hop savior.” People are dying for some uplifting, ground breaking music only to be let down. I can bet you this, if Jay Electronica does drop, his album will be better than all these young cats combined.

      1. no doubt. Section 80 is my favorite album of the past couple years but I guarantee i wouldn’t have been in love with it after hearing 30 sec snippets. some of these songs will be deep, some will be fun. Just like section 80

      2. Exactly my point I loved section 80. But still had to give it a couple spins before I really was into it! People just to thirsty nowadays with new music they want the first words they hear you say to blow their mind away, can’t blame them too much with all the trash that gets played nowadays though

      3. the very same can be said about the people who love shit and call shit classic after snippets. i though cruel summer was gonna be dope based off snippet but i was disappointed

    34. Peace,

Well, i’m 30 so I came up in a different time in rap music. I think Kendrick is a real nice MC, but it seems like his choice in beats and song construction is just straight wack. I can’t get into all these electronic beats and shit. J. Cole yeah, i had hopes for him when I heard him on that joint with Jay Elect, Mos and Talib but J. Cole is just wack now, he on that Pop tip. K.R.I.T messed up because he put out all his good stuff for FREE! He put out 3 dope free albums! No wonder he didn’t have nothing for his retail release! duh smh

      1. The thing about rap music now is that the good music is not solely contained on the album. Alot of it is on the internet tracks and the mixtapes which is unfiltered. The album is a commercial product so has to pander to people that have an invested interest in it i.e. executives in the record business. Hence why the album normally feels like a watered down version of themselves.

Its still hard to complain KRIT, J cole etc have such a great catalogue of music who cares if its not all on the studio album!

    35. JUST GOT A CALL FROM THE RECORD SHOP…CD AND VINYL COPY OF GOOD KID MAAD CITY IS THERE! ON MY WAY TO PICK IT UP

    36. I don’t know about this shit I wouldn’t drop this if I was him I knew dre and interscope would ruin his career Krayzie bone I guess was right the major labels now are only paying for 11 songs what type of shit is that this should be dropped as a mixatpe def not album material and I expect more from K dot for real

    37. The more i listen to these snippets the better they sound. It’s a lot like how i felt when i first heard section.80

    38. this shit is sick.

haters, thanks for hating… ur a big inspiration to any artist.

without you kendrick wouldn’t be where he is now!

      god bless you all.

    39. When are you lames going to stop calling everybody a hater that disagrees with you? If someone doesn’t like something that doesn’t mean they are a hater, they just don’t like it. I think this shit is weak and I’m not hating I’m being honest. Its not about an age difference either this shit is just weak. SMDH

    40. m.a.a.d city goes harddd..cant wait to hear the full track and the rest of the album..album of the year no doubt, section.80 did it (mixtapte), kendrick only about to do it again

    41. I SWEAR TA GOD THIS ISH MAKES THE FUCKEN DEVIL DANCE!! Good Kid Mad City_KENDRICK MUST BE CROWNED THE NEW KING OF HIP HOP_maad city
