KAYTRANADA has accused Beyoncé of offering him a lowball sum for the rights to his remix of “Cuff It.”

Sitting down with Vulture for an in-depth conversation, the DJ and producer detailed his issues with the “Crazy In Love” singer’s team.

Discussing the offer he received for his remix of the Renaissance hit, which he rejected, KAYTRANADA said: “Sometimes people don’t see your worth and how important you are. I know what I mean to people.”

After members of the Bey Hive criticized KAYTRANADA for his comments, he clarified his feelings towards Beyoncé and denied having any issues with the singer.

He wrote in a since-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter): “Mannnn I didn’t drag her that’s just what happened. The remix didn’t get a release and it is what it is but later that year I opened [for] her on tour AND on her Bday on top of that. Now what? I love that girl & y’all ain’t gonna make me look like I ain’t rocking with her.”

Elsewhere in the interview, KAYTRANADA spoke about how he was asked to contribute to Drake‘s Honestly, Nevermind album but the opportunity fell through due to his response.

Though he was on board with the collaboration, the Montreal native suspects that his response (“Sure, hit me up”) was not enthusiastic enough for the 6 God.

“Was I supposed to be like, ‘Oh my God, for real? Drake?’ I’m not like that,” he said.

KAYTRA previously discussed the moment, which happened at a Coachella afterparty in Los Angeles.

He said in an interview with Montreality: “I met Drake in L.A. one time, and that was it, really. At one point, one of his boys was like, ‘Your boy wants some beats. He’s gonna do a house album.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, sure, hit me up.’”

He continued: “That’s my thing: anybody that wanna work with me, just hit me up. Maybe my reaction rubbed them the wrong way, but I was just saying, ‘Hey, if you’re serious, hit me up, let’s work, for real.’”

KAYTRANADA, of course, did not land any credits on Honestly, Nevermind or any of Drake’s subsequent projects.
