Kanye West “Wants To Help The Culture,” Says Theophilus London

Brooklyn, New York musician Theophilus London recently detailed his work with fellow artist Kanye West, during a newly-released interview with HotNewHipHop.com. According to Theophilus, Kanye “loved” his music upon hearing it and says the G.O.O.D. Music helmsman revealed that he wanted to “help the culture through” him.

He also recalled Kanye, who serves as executive producer on Theophilus’ VIBES project, requesting that he work with him at his house in Paris, France.

“I just played him the music. He loved it,” Theophilus London said. “And he said he wants to help the culture through me. And he mentored me the whole year. And it’s been great. We’re great friends and we’re still collaborators. I wrote some stuff for his new album. He changed my album…He was working on Yeezus and I was working with him. I played him a song off my album one night and he really enjoyed it. And he was like—He told me to come every week to his house in Paris. Meet him next week. I had to drop everything and just make it my schedule…It was an organic, cool thing because we were already friends and stuff. We used to hangout like humans and kids, you know? It wasn’t about music.”

Another artist Theophilus spoke on during his interview with HotNewHipHop.com was Wiz Khalifa. He says he recently had the opportunity to meet the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania lyricist at his home.

He shared that it was at Wiz’ home that the rapper revealed that he admires his music.

“I just met Wiz last week, man. It was great,” he said. “Came over to his house. My little brother is his stylist. He dresses him now. Shout out to Ian. I always been a fan of Wiz. He’s always been the nicest guy to me. He’s still the reason why I like rap. I like the rock star lane he’s going in. He’s very focused. He’s one of the best dressed rappers out there to me…He actually admires me, he told me. We was on the couch watching Hercules and he turned around and he was like ‘Man, I really admire you, man. I hold you dear to my heart.’ And it was like you don’t have to hit people up and let them know you admire them you can admire them from far away. Same thing with Wiz too. I never hit him up to tell him that.”

Theophilus’ VIBES album was released today (November 4) and features guest appearances from Jesse Boykins III, Leon Ware, and Soko. His interview with HotNewHipHop.com can be found below.

    1. Kanye DID help the culture. But lately he’s been hurting it. Kanye needs to get in touch with his soul and put out music the average poor person can relate to. No more Lambo music, no more molly music, etc.

      1. Nah he’s helped people think bigger with that music and telling people how he lives. He wants to take down a racist fashion industry now and open doors for minorities in that business. Dude is a visionary and has kept it real from the jump. Dude is visionary and people can’t see it because white media wants to keep him in place
