Kanye West‘s YE24 campaign is over before it even really got going as his lawyer has revealed that Yeezy will not be running for president in the next election.

Rolling Stone received a statement from Kanye’s personal attorney, Bruce Marks, on Friday (October 20) stating that the rapper will be “winding down his campaign apparatus” and not running for office.

“He’s not a candidate for office in 2024,” Marks relayed.

While Kanye is one to often change his mind, sources don’t think that will be the case here as they say the chances of a YE24 presidential bid are “beyond remote.”

The Kanye 2020 campaign is currently run by its treasurer following right-wing operative Milo Yiannopoulos’ departure. He has since been rehired as the director of public affairs for Yeezy, LLC. There is reportedly only $25,000 worth of funds available, which signals that a shutdown is imminent.

An ex-staffer referred to Kanye’s campaign as being filled with “dysfunction and malfunction from the beginning.” The former Kanye 2020 treasurer, Devin White, believes the campaign truly had no chance of ever taking off as he compared it to “building an airplane with no wings. It wasn’t meant to fly.”

Kanye West’s run in the 2020 presidential election saw him on the ballot in 12 states, where he racked up a minuscule 60,000 votes. His highest number of votes came in Tennessee (10,188).

While his focus is no longer on politics right now, Kanye appears to be in album mode as he’s readying a joint project with Ty Dolla $ign.

According to Billboard, the Chicago rap icon and California crooner are planning to perform the as-yet-untitled project for the very first time at a massive concert in Italy on October 27.

Previous reports suggested that the event could be held at RCF Arena (formerly known as Campovolo), an outdoor music venue in the northern city of Reggio Emilia in Italy that can hold up to 100,000 people.

News of a Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign album first surfaced earlier this month when new music from the duo debuted during a “private listening party” in Italy. The latter also played an unreleased song at a nightclub in Geneva, Switzerland.

Ye and Ty are said to be currently shopping for a company to partner with to distribute the album.
