Kanye West has taken more shots at J. Cole while discussing his divisive apology to Kendrick Lamar.
Speaking with Justin Laboy on The Download podcast, Kanye branded Cole a “pussy” for backing down in his rap battle with K. Dot, which saw them trade shots on “Like That” and “7 Minute Drill.”

“Fuck all that pussy shit. Fuck all that shit, man. Because it’s like, that n-gga J. Cole went on tour with Drake. He knows what it is. It’s like, n-gga, you can’t run now,” Ye said, referencing Cole and Drizzy’s co-headlining Big As the What? Tour.

When asked if it’s “up” for Cole, West began to mock the North Carolina rap star as he replied: “You can’t say ‘up’ and ‘Cole’ in the same sentence.”
Laboy then asked the Chicago native if apologies are “allowed” in rap beef, to which he said: “I don’t know, man. I don’t listen to J. Cole so I wouldn’t even know. I just heard he had a song called ‘False Idols’ [sic] and somebody told me it’s halfway about me.”
The song Kanye West was referring to, “False Prophets,” was released in 2016 and saw J. Cole seemingly taking shots at Ye.
“He’s fallin’ apart, but we deny it/ Justifying that half ass shit he dropped, we always buy it/ When he tell us he a genius but it’s clearer lately/ It’s been hard for him to look into the mirror lately,” he rapped.

He continued: “There was a time when this n-gga was my hero, maybe/ That’s the reason why his fall from grace is hard to take/ ‘Cause I believed him when he said his shit was purer and he/ The type of n-gga swear he real but all around him’s fake.”
Kanye also recently dissed Cole on his remix of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” on which he said: “Y’all so out of sight, out of mind/ I can’t even think of a Drake line/ Play J. Cole, get the pussy dry.”
The song was released in support of Kendrick Lamar in his feud with Drake, with Ye saying at the beginning of the track: “We gon’ take this pussy n-gga out. Yo Dot, I got you.”
West is far from the first rap figure to criticize J. Cole for apologizing to Kendrick. After catching wind of his olive branch, a perplexed 50 Cent wrote on Instagram: “WTF how I miss this, @realcoleworld call my phone right now!”

Dame Dash also expressed his disappointment, saying: ““As a fan, I’m disappointed […] No disrespect to J. Cole but as a fan, it seemed like he threw up the white flag.”
He added: “Him apologizing was him saying, ‘You won, you the best. I can’t fuck with you.’ I’m not mad at him. It’s great he can take the high road but what high road? They were fucking battling.”
