Kanye West has been named one of the most influential people in the world by TIME Magazine.
West also appears on one of seven covers for the publication’s April/May 2015 issue. Kanye bears a blank stare on the cover and appears to be robed in a black T-shirt.
Within the magazine, West is profiled by entrepreneur – Tesla CEO Elon Musk under the headline “Boundary Breaker.”
“Every time I crash the Internet, it’s like this little drop of truth,” West says in a promo visual for the “Time 100.” “Every time I say something that is extremely truthful out loud, it literally breaks the Internet. So, what are we getting all of the rest of the time?
“I don’t care about having a legacy or being remembered,” he continues.
As for competing with rappers or other up-and-coming designers, West says he’s not focused on them or his own personal legacy. Instead, he questions society’s shallow, selfish motives.
“I’m not in a competition with anyone,” he says. “What makes us be so selfish, prideful? What makes us not want to help the next man? What makes us be so focused on personal legacy, as opposed to an entire legacy of a race? When humanity is gone, what do we give to this little planet that we’re on… Removing pride. Our focus needs to be less about our legacy or how we’re going to control each other, but more how can we give to each other.”
West lands on the renowned magazine for the second time in his career. Nearly 10 years ago, Kanye covered TIME Magazine as he was prepping for the release of his second studio album, Late Registration.
Kim Kardashian West, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels are also featured on this year’s “100 Most Influential People” list.

Why is Kanye tryna sound like a white guy in this interview
Ima take it that you’ve never heard him speak before. He’s not tryin to sound like anything, this is just how he speaks.
So, because his speech isn’t littered with “aite” and “nawimsayin,” it means he’s trying to sound like a white guy…come on man, let’s not be ignorant.
inside you’re screaming for help
are you seeing yourself in others?
“Time writer Elon Musk”… Wow, HipHopDX writers are ignorant as F***. You seriously don’t know who Elon Musk is??!?!?!?
Reasons this site fuggin sucks.
Yo, I get all of my politics and philosophy from Kanye. He is like a mix of Ayn Rand & Ronald Reagan.
I just want to thank the world for listening to me. Humanity needs me, god needs me on this earth. So I can TEACH, cause youngin’ you need wisdom. You want to sell music, fuck bitches and design clothes? You need to produce music yo’. When my momma died from vanity I was like hell naw! Ever since then me and god been fightin’ yo.
I will never buy another Time magazine. It is obvious that they were either bought off or have now became another magazine on the level of Star. Kanye West has never done anything for anybody but himself. His only talent is spewing filthy rap and marrying a high paid prostitute. He has never influenced anyone except another no talent person that can’t sing so they rap filth because they know it doesn’t take talent anymore to sell to young people. His wife is a loathsome HO. They are worth tens of millions but do you hear about them helping anybody. Oh, I forgot Kim that is worth a couple hundred million for being a HO sells her used clothing on Ebay and gives 10 percent to charity. No wonder America has fallen so much when you take these worthless people and say they are influential. Look at our young girls now. They don’t think they have to get a good education or do something worthwhile, they just think they have to show skin and have sex and unfortunately they are doing those things. Women’s lib was fought for nothing because women are more disgusting now then ever before. It is now cool to take off your clothes and have babies while being unwed. Fifty percent of our babies are born to uneducated, unwed teen mothers. That is the reason why there are so many screwed up kids now.
