Kanye West has been filmed butting heads with a lawyer during a deposition as part of an eight-figure lawsuit filed against the rapper for allegedly stealing technology.

Featured in the upcoming A&E show Interrogation Raw: Celebrity Under Oath, the footage shows Ye attending the 2021 deposition via Zoom and initially refusing to look at the camera.

One of the attorneys on the call, Michael Popok, asks West if he is using his phone, to which the Chicago native responds that he is.

Kanye then takes issue with being asked to stop using his phone during the deposition, responding: “Due to my mental geniusness, in order to focus on this bullshit, I need to be on a phone.”

West’s attorney, Ekwan Rhowe, then gets involved at the request of Popok and Yeezy agrees to stop using his phone — before he defiantly puts on a mask that completely covers his face.

He then tells Popok: “You don’t have the right to see my face.”

Things really go off the rails when Popok asks Kanye what room of the house he is in, with the controversial rap mogul angrily replying: “I’m not gonna tell you! You never gonna see me again!”

Popok then enquires as to what other items are in the room with Ye, who responds by yelling: “Are you stupid?! I’m not gonna tell you other things. I don’t have time to be talking about, ‘I got a chair in the room.’ You are talking to the richest Black person in the history of America!”

The deposition was part of a 2020 lawsuit filed against Kanye West by technology company MyChannel, which originally seeked $20 million in damages as well as a jury trial.

The G.O.O.D. Music founder was accused of promising the company $10 million in investment and stealing technology from them for his Sunday Service shows.

MyChannel also claimed they had put in 10,000 man hours for West and invested $7 million in his Yeezy brand.

Following the deposition, an attorney for the tech company said: “West’s bad faith efforts to sabotage the deposition will be viewed by the Court as one of the most outrageous and inappropriate deposition performances it has observed.”

In 2021, Kanye reached a settlement with the company which saw both parties agree to a dismissal and acknowledge that they would pay all their own legal fees.

MyChannel also dismissed all claims against West, who repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
