Excitement for Kanye West‘s upcoming album Bully continues to grow thanks to some new material that has made its way online.

A brief video surfaced on social media over the weekend showing the rap icon playing a previously unheard song while in Switzerland.

The track appears to feature a blend of styles such as the sped-up soul-sampling sound of Kanye’s early career as well as more maximalist and gospel elements, while he can also be heard singing over the beat.

However, the Chicago native was less than impressed that somebody was recording him listening to the song as he eventually turned around and motioned them to turn off their camera immediately.

While not much is known about Bully, Kanye West did unveil the cover art for the album last October.

The artwork is a black and white photo of his son Saint rocking fanged grills similar to those Ye purchased last year, which reportedly involved him spending $850,000 to remodel his teeth with titanium.

West also revealed that the close-up image was shot by Daidō Moriyama, a veteran Japanese photographer known for his black and white street photos.

The G.O.O.D. Music founder is reportedly the sole producer on the project, marking the first time he’s handled all (if not the vast majority) of the beats on an album since his 2004 debut The College Dropout.

“Kanye is now living in Tokyo and living in a hotel hard at work on his next album Bully,” journalist and podcaster Touré said late last year. “He’s recording the album in the hotel room. Like, all the machines are set up in the hotel room.”

He then shared more details about the project, saying: “It’s a concept album and he plans to be the only producer on it. Traditionally, Kanye is the product of a team, there are producers helping him, there are writers helping him, he comes with the big ideas but there’s others in.

“Not this time. This time, Kanye is gonna make this pretty much by himself. A fresh chapter in his life because in Tokyo he can be who he wants to be.”

Bully will serve as Ye’s first solo album since 2021’s Donda and the follow-up to his two Vultures LPs with Ty Dolla $ign which both arrived last year.
