Kanye West has claimed that he is being blacklisted by concert venues despite him being one of the biggest musicians in the world.
The controversial rapper made the allegations in a social media clip which surfaced on Tuesday (Feburary 6), which he then followed with a series of posts on Instagram.
“We just sold out the United Center in seven minutes and I just wanted to express to everybody out there to see if anybody can help with this,” West says in the video. “It’s the only arena I had access to in the past year. And when I call, people say there’s no availables for me and you know why that is. If there’s anybody out there that can help with this, please do.”
West also wrote on Instagram: “I have not been allowed to perform in a year feels like the Elvis Presley movie.” He then proceeded to plug his booking agency.
West’s plea did not fall on deaf ears, as he soon posted screenshots of text messages documenting attempts to get a tour booked, including a discussion with his agent in which she claimed to have received “crazy amounts of non stop calls from all over the world.”
One person who claimed to be able to help was Freddie Gibbs who told West he could set up a concert in San Diego at Petco Park.
The screenshots also revealed attempts by West to get booked at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, New York and iconic international landmarks such as the Giza Pyramids in Egypt, the Great Wall of China and on Corcovado mountain in Brazil.
West also revealed he had a $2.5 million offer to perform in Hong Kong and that he was planning concerts in Australia and Hawaii.
The reason West implies he can’t book a tour is likely his history of antisemitic comments and association with Holocaust deniers such as Nick Fuentes.
In December, West released a statement in Hebrew in which he apologized to the Jewish community for the damage his words and actions have caused.
“I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions. It was not my intention to hurt or demean, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused.”
“I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding more in the future. Your forgiveness is important to me, and I am committed to making amends and promoting unity.”
The apology received a mixed response from the Anti-Defamation League, while media personality Peter Rosenberg branded the statement “inauthentic” and suggested it was driven by ulterior motives on Ye’s part.
Is it a mystery then? May all doors close for him. Bahahaha!!!
…and may his blue ass jaw fall off too🤲🗑🖕💯
The hype had finally died down and people are beginning to see how wack he always been. One of the worst voices to ever touch a mic.
Surprise surprise! People aren’t doing business with you ye. Cancel!!!
Love you Ye, fuck the haters. Talk your shit, make mistakes, be human. The man is not a robot being authentic is priceless, no matter the cost.
what you see as authenticity others see as lunacy.
They aren’t mutually exclusive by my estimation.
we don’t need anymore clowns on the payroll. no one is stopping him from doing his internet stuff and if he can book shows there’s clearly money to be made.
at any given moment you’re liable to say or do something to bring a fuck load of negative attention to anyone who just paid you money to put on a show. Perhaps the juice isn’t worth the squeeze for booking him.
Ye don’t say?! Bahahaha!!!
..but it’s just a antisemitic conspiracy theory to say small hats are in control
WTF did you expect, 🤡. Carry on!!!
he burned his bridges. how do you know he’s not going to pop off with some hater talk in public and then start crying about bipolar? The worst part is you know they want to paint everyone even close to Ye with the same brush. that’s because of the 5 percent of what he says that you can’t argue with not the 95 percent of the rest of junk he spouts when he wants to.
He hates the way the industry works when it’s working right. You can’t label bashing being truthful for the sake of attention. People don’t Have to do anything after you say hurtful things to them or their people. Everybody’s not that forgiving. Take the cost of the gamble when you get charged up and say whatever. Maybe don’t say but do
