Juice WRLD’s death in 2019 is still felt to this day by his family, friends and fans. The Chicago native’s popularity skyrocketed since he passed, and with that comes a lot of attention to any unreleased music Juice had been working on in his extensive catalog.
People are somehow getting their hands on the unreleased songs and leaking them to the masses. It may be harmless, but Carmella Wallace, Juice’s mother, doesn’t like people releasing her son’s music without authorization.
On Monday (December 27), Juice’s mother spoke with XXL about her son, his legacy and more. One of the topics that came up was the song leaks, and according to Ms. Wallace, she thinks it’s a little disrespectful to release Juice’s songs in that manner.
“I understand they loved him. They loved his music, but there’s a proper way to do it,” Juice’s mother said. “Let us give you our best. Leaked music is not necessarily cleaned up music, it’s just leaked, it’s not finished. So, it’s just a lot of work just going into it. It’s a bit disrespectul to him, honestly, to leak his music like that. But I know that monster is there, been there and it’s not going anywhere. We can just do our part an put out good music. He made a lot of good music.”
TMZ reported Juice WRLD had over 2,000 unreleased songs in the stash before passing away from a drug overdose. At the time, Juice’s family issued a statement explaining their plans for the music. Some of those songs found their way on Juice’s two posthumous albums, Legends Never Die in 2020 and Fighting Demons in 2021.

“We plan to honor Juice’s talents, his spirit, and the love he felt for his fans by sharing unreleased music and other projects that he was passionately in the process of developing,” Juice’s family wrote in their statement in January 2020.

Maybe be fortunate you even gave birth to such an artist and stop milking the money. You know why Lil Peep, Mac Miller and Xxx are fading away into obscurity with every passing year? Cause their estates want to vault everything up, fight about the rights and who should be paid. All that fighting over an artist intent to just make and release music is 10 x more disrespectful.
While I agree, I will say alot of these labels also release trash songs that the artist probably never wanted to be released in the first place. That’s why it’s called a vault to begin with
