Things are looking up for Busta Rhymes as the NY emcee’s weapons charge stemming from an arrest in August was tossed out on Tuesday, June 5th. The weapon in question — a machete found in the rapper’s SUV — was found during his arrest.
According to Newsday, Rhymes appeared in court wearing “two huge diamond stud earrings, a gem-encrusted watch and a diamond pinkie ring.” Criminal Court Judge Shawndya Simpson proceeded to reject the prosecution’s request for an additional weapons charge.
The rapper, born Trevor Smith, had nothing to say during the hearing; however, he let the sketch artists know afterwards, “I love it when you make me look good.”
According to prosecutor Harrison Scheiloch, the machete was found in the rear seat of the rapper’s SUV during his arrest, following a performance on Randall’s Island.
