Remy Ma, who was accused of shooting an acquaintance in July over money, also faces witness-intimidation and gang-assault charges stemming from a later bar fight, according to the Associated Press.
The 26-year-old rapper stands accused of telling several of her male friends to attack a witness’ boyfriend in a nightclub. The man suffered a black eye, shattered jaw and broken cheek bone.
Remy’s lawyer Ivan Fisher tried unsuccessfully to convince the State Supreme Court Justice Rena Uviller that the evidence was insufficient to indict his client.
The judge adjourned the case until Jan. 3, after which time the prosecution will have results of DNA tests on blood found on Remy’s clothes.
Assistant District Attorney Jason Berland wants to see if the blood found on the rapper’s clothes belongs to Makeda Barnes-Joseph, whom Remy is accused of shooting on July 14, 2007 over a missing $2000.
