Earlier this week, Birdman had to feel the brunt of social media following the reveal of his latest collaboration with Lugz. Now, the Cash Money co-founder has to remain worried about a $300,000 lawsuit regarding unpaid wages to an alleged former employee.
According to The Miami Herald, Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judge Rodney Smith recently tossed out Bryan William’s motion to have the suit from Javier Nuno dismissed.
Initially, a security guard working at the rapper/music executive’s $15 million Palm Island mansion received the paperwork from the process server and Birdman said the procedure wasn’t executed properly. However, Smith apparently thought it was good enough.
“You can’t serve a security guard,” Birdman’s attorney Alan Soven said. “You can’t serve the maid or the gardener. You have to serve someone who lives at the house, and I can promise you the security guard doesn’t live in Bryan’s mansion.”
Nuno said he “worked like a dog” and punched in upwards of 70 hours some weeks.
Regardless, Soven said Nuno was never under payroll of Birdman and lived on the property for two years after the exec bought the mansion before they found out he was even there.
Somewhere, Lil Wayne is probably smiling.
That is some BS. Don’t like birdman but his lawyer right. You can’t serve someone thru an employee. The judge might be in cahoots with birdman. An appeals court gonna throw any judgment out.
If the judge was in cahoots with Birdman then he wouldn’t have thrown out Birdman’s motion to have the suit dismissed
Truth
Thank u for clarification on the matter because GreenNYC was lost on that one
Birdman’s lawyer’s argument “You have to serve someone who lives at the house, and I can promise you the security guard doesn’t live in Bryan’s mansion.” – Birdman’s lawyer then goes on to say “Nuno lived on the property for two years after the exec bought the mansion”
Great fucking lawyer you hired Birdman
A) how in thee hell you aint know he was livin there for TWO YEARS??? B) First you can’t serve someone who dont live there n then you say he been livin there? Somewhere, Rick James is smiling down on this fool for that one
