Sen. John McCain cleaned up, winning Texas, Ohio, Vermont, and Rhode Island, and successfully clinched the Republican presidential nomination. On the other hand, the race for the Democratic nomination continues to be neck-and-neck with Sen. Barack Obama leading in two states, and Sen. Hilary Clinton leading two.
McCain’s success today continues a strong trend, which has led to a concession by Gov. Mike Huckabee. The Democratic race on the other hand is closer than expected with the projected split of states. Yesterday, Hilary Clinton seemed dead, with Obama winning more than ten states in a row. Clinton‘s campaign may have survived the scare and is proving that she will not go away quietly. Depending on how Texas and Ohio come out, Clinton could very well find herself back in the race. A senior political analyst for CNN determined that if Obama won Texas and Ohio, as well as Vermont, which he has already locked up, that he will win the Democratic nomination.
