Model Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend revealed the loss of their baby boy on Wednesday night (September 30). Teigen had a miscarriage after being hospitalized on Sunday (September 27) for excessive bleeding. The couple had already picked out the name Jack to join their two children Luna and Miles.
“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” Teigen wrote in part. “We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”
Teigen continued, “To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive,” Teigen wrote. “We will always love you.”
Legend later added, “We love you, Jack.”
Teigen and Legend first revealed they were expecting a child in Legend’s “Wild” video featuring Gary Clark Jr., which landed on the Ohio native’s 2020 Bigger Love album. She later slipped up and hinted she and JL would be having another baby boy. Their daughter Luna was born in 2016, and they had Miles two years later in 2018.

Facts. As sad as the news is, and I’m sure many people are sympathetic, why would a couple share something so personal across the web like that? WTH is going on this people now?
I was hoping I wasn’t the only one feeling the way you both do. Sympathetic yes… they overshare their lives and this is a perfect example. They made a moment that should have been private and about the loss of their child appear like a supreme moment of vanity. Not once did they consider how this will trigger the millions of people that have gone through the same exact thing, PRIVATELY. This is wrong but this is what social media has wrought and will unfortunately continue to become a norm for as long as social media is around.
