Joe Budden Goes Off On ‘Corny’ Michael B. Jordan

Joe Budden has made it loud and clear how he feels about Michael B. Jordan, labeling the actor “corny” for his recent viral interaction with Lore’l.

Jordan confronted the media personality, who he used to be classmates with, at the Creed III screening in Atlanta last week for allegedly once calling him “corny.”

“We know each other; we go way back, all the way to Chad Science in Newark,” Lore’l said while interviewing Jordan on the red carpet, to which the actor replied: “Corny kid, right?” with an unamused look on his face.

“I did not say that! Misquoted for sure,” Lore’l said in an attempt to defend herself, prompting Jordan to stand firm, responding: “Oh no, I heard it.”

Michael B. Jordan was referring to an interview Lore’l gave on The Undressing Room Podcast in 2021, where she admitted that she and others used to tease the Creed star for his name and passion for acting.

“To be honest with you, we teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let’s start there, and he was no Michael Jordan,” she said, comparing him to the NBA legend.

“And he also would come to school with a headshot. We lived in Newark, that’s the hood,” she continued. “We would make fun of him like, ‘What you gonna do with your stupid headshot!?’ And now look at him!”

Joe Budden weighed in on the much-discussed moment on his eponymous podcast earlier this week, and didn’t hold back.

“Dawg, you doing that to a girl is some corny n-gga shit,” he barked. “You being Michael B. Jordan today — allegedly sexiest man alive in all of these blockbuster movies, during your highlight week, you’ve probably never been more visible than you are right this second — and that’s what you do to her?”

Budden then brought up Michael B. Jordan’s rumored taste for white women — including British model Amber Jepson, whom he was linked to earlier this year following his high-profile split from Lori Harvey.

“And if I bring back them white girl rumors, then it’s gonna sound even crazier!” the podcast host continued. “‘Cause why you talking to our sisters like that on the red carpet? We don’t even talk to white bitches like that. But I’m not gonna make it racial; they say I make everything racial. That was corny of him to speak to that girl like that.”

He added: “Aye, Creed. What’s this n-gga’s name? Aye, Creed. In case you were confused, that corny ass shit you did is why n-ggas think you corny! You n-ggas keep thinking that money hides corniness.”

After catching flack for his comments, with social media users bringing up his own history of making disparaging remarks about Black women, the former Slaughterhouse rapper dug his heels in.

“If any other Black multi millionaire embarrassed a woman working on a red carpet cuz she thought he was corny in 7th grade y’all would call him a lot more than corny,” Budden wrote in an Instagram Story on Wednesday (February 1).

He added: “Also i work for me & im not firing myself. I said what i said, get off my dick. Love, management.”

While Michael B. Jordan has yet to respond to either Joe Budden or Lore’l, the latter has since attempted to clear up her awkward red carpet moment with the award-winning actor.

Speaking to TMZ earlier this week, the Morning Hustle host denied “bullying” Jordan in high school and claimed her original comments have been taken out of context.

“I feel like I admitted exactly what I said, and then even those words got turned around,” she said. “When I told this story, it was super lighthearted. It wasn’t even in the sense of me breaking down the entire school experience.

“FYI we went to school together for one year, so the narrative that I bullied him all throughout high school — this was 7th grade, we were like 12 years old, and everybody made fun of each other. I would get joked on ’cause of my complexion!”

Additionally, audio of Lore’l’s appearance on The Undressing Room Podcast reveals it was actually her co-host Dominique Da Diva who referred to Michael B. Jordan as “a nice, corny guy” while discussing his relationship with Lori Harvey.

    1. women just can’t hold themselves accountable for nothing. Still trying to defend her actions. A simple apology would’ve squashed everything.

and joe budden is just a old cornball.

michael jordan handled it a lot better than most of us. I probably would’ve mushed her face if she tried to interview me after calling me corny.

    2. Joe Budden shouldn’t be weighing in on this one. Apparently she and other people tried to clown him back in the day, not knowing the path he was one. She continues to do her work as someone who makes a living by talking, judging, and commenting on the lives of other people as opposed to building something. She gets attention from bringing negative attention to other people, so she can make herself feel better. She came across someone who is on top of their game, after having put in the work and getting clowned for years by those who didn’t see where he was going, and he told her exactly how he felt to her face, not behind her back. I see nothing wrong with what Jordan did. Joe is a clown for putting himself in this, he’s in the same boat as she is.

      1. So what. Who didn’t get clowned on in 7th grade. There were no perfect kids, especially in the hood. You had to have jokes to survive or just get laughed at. Even the nerds like myself had to be quick witted. Stop it.

What Micheal B did was corny as hell. Told my fiance that before Joe spoke on it. You don’t have to do that on the red carpet. You don’t have to let your insecurity and ego get the best of you. Could have just kept it on some cool shit.

      2. How many times did you pray to your Joe Budden Shrine today? These people don’t know you. Joe don’t know know you, but you defending him stalker like. FOH with your holier than thou moral compass bullshit you aren’t in their world. Stay off the internet and bake a cake bruh

    3. I bet you if a woman did exactly what Michael B Jordan did, Joe would either encourage/praise it or be oblivious to it.

    4. He never said that Lore’l said that she said it..he was just letting it be known that he heard “the corny kid” remark. Plus joe reaching on this, it’s not like Jordan went back and forth with her and was stuntn’ on her, he went on with the interview and kept it push in’..now it would be wrong for Jordan to bring up Joe actually hitting and abusing women I guess lol Joe had no room to talk

    5. And then he went on to be more successful than Joe. Success is the best revenge they say. I guess it’s true lol

    6. Success is the best revenge. He handled that interview as he should. She made fun of him cause he was different from the status quo. Who’s laughing now? What was that song again…back then they didn’t want me, now I’m hot they all on me?

    7. Joe has admitted in the past that he hates MBJ. So he could’ve done anything and Joe would’ve found something to hate on him for. Also, do Corny MKZ get to call others Corny? Cause Joe is a mega cornball.

    8. Ya’ll really be corny. He didn’t even diss her. WTF are ya’ll talking about? In fact, he kept it professional, and at the end she was rude as hell with that “Well you’re not corny anymore” bit. He could’ve went off on her way more, and another in fact, he was responding to the interview she did, not the shit from middle school.

Joe Budden is an attention grabbing drama queen who will do or say anything just to get ratings.

      1. I agree with you, I was also looked at as corny because I did not act like somebody else when I lived in Newark. I end up being captain of the football team, went to play College football, and became a stockbroker for 30 years. Now I am retired and wealthy.
I am happy to have been corny. But I still remember how it feels. I am proud of Michael, he didn’t need a basketball to make it, he used his brain.

    9. Joe Budden and Lorel should find a dark quiet corner and disappear from existence. They save us their drama coz we tired.

      1. @Jussayin,

Joe Budden might just beat her ass too. Niggas forgotten Budden a bitch for beating on women. His little moment trying to defend her honor, is new born baby shit.

    10. Budden is a typical narcissist who doesnt understand his own hypocrisy. What he did to the Migos in that interview he walked away from was the epitome of disrespect, unprofessionalism, and straight up Bitch-like movements. He did that to a young, aspiring, successful Black group too. He cant do that then go at MJ for what he did and what MJ did was not bad at all. I give him props for conducting it the way he did because clearly he had issues with it and handled it appropriately and I give respect to the lady interviewing him because her damage control and ability to diffuse the situation and keep the interview going was spot on…..take notes Budden that’s how you roll with the punches. She didnt walk away and drop the mic lile a little bitch.

    11. There’s a change that we all make when we get money…we get the chance to be who we really are as we are less concerned with the consequence because we are “UP”. Seeing what Joe budden is doing now that he’s finally become successful is disgusting, and makes it clear that he won’t be in said position for long. This guy is a constant reminder to avoid people who behave like him…gross. So glad i stopped watching that mess

    12. I have never liked Joe Budden he is a simp. Coming to that woman’s defense he should have just stayed out of it. At the end of the interview the lady said to Michael B. Jordan you’re not corny anymore. Joe is a straight up clown 🤡

    13. Ask any real chick and she’ll tell you what MBJ did was lame AF. Men in their feelings are a turn off for females. It’s a reason with all his success Drake can’t keep a top notch woman.

      1. Only a dumb ass would think that only certain women hold a valid opinion over others. And they tend to call any one “real” if they agree with them, and anyone who doesn’t, isn’t “real.” Straight corny goofball behavior.

    14. Anyone found the def jam rap star, Joe Budden mad cause Michael coming out with creed 3 it’s hard work when it comes to consist exercise for that type of movie. Joe Budden couldn’t do 20 minutes on speed 10 on a treadmill. I thought Joe Budden was a def jam rapper not a hater

    15. Joe identifies with the woman because he likes to bully people and hates being held accountable, so when he gets called on his past behavior he can just rely on the excuse that they’re being petty. Birds of a feather flock together

    16. Joe Buttons, over his career the fella has responded to anyone who mentioned him, and started beefs over next to nothing. Talked about whoever on wax. Yet when Michael B Jordan responds to someone for something they said….. they are ‘corny’ according to him. Hypocrite.
