Joe Budden has urged J. Cole to hit back at Kanye West‘s recent disses as a way to redeem himself in the eyes of many Hip Hop fans.
Speaking on his self-titled podcast, Budden claimed that the Dreamville rapper needs to seize the opportunity to lyrically “kill” Kanye to restore his reputation after his divisive apology to Kendrick Lamar.

“This moment is J. Cole’s free parking,” he said. “I told y’all that J. Cole was gonna have to find somebody to kick his ass, and it couldn’t be nobody chump and small. There is no better person than Kanye, the n-gga that you been had smoke with, the n-gga that been had smoke with your OG Hov, who’s now on a record saying some shit about you.
“I know you that home with the sage. You sagin’ yourself. I know that this beef shit is not in your spirit, but if you were to wake up one day in a different mood, now is the time. Kill him. Make an example out of this non-rapping n-gga.

“It would be easy too. Jump in and tell us the difference in how you felt about the Kendrick shit and why the rest of the field, it’s yo ass […] I think that’s the reprieve that he needs. I think it solves all of J. Cole’s problems.”

Kanye West has been taking aim at J. Cole in recent days, beginning with his remix of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.”
“Y’all so out of sight, out of mind/ I can’t even think of a Drake line/ Play J. Cole, get the pussy dry,” he rapped on the song, also firing a shot at the 6 God.

West also shared an X-rated meme on social media mocking Cole for supposedly turning women off with his music.
Like many of his rap peers, Ye was unimpressed by the North Carolina native’s aforementioned apology to Kendrick, calling it a “pussy” move.
“Fuck all that pussy shit. Fuck all that shit, man. Because it’s like, that n-gga J. Cole went on tour with Drake. He knows what it is. It’s like, n-gga, you can’t run now,” he said in an interview with Justin Laboy.
When asked if it’s “up” for Cole, Kanye threw more shade by replying: “You can’t say ‘up’ and ‘Cole’ in the same sentence.”

Laboy then asked the Chicago native if apologies are “allowed” in rap beef, to which he said: “I don’t know, man. I don’t listen to J. Cole so I wouldn’t even know. I just heard he had a song called ‘False Idols’ [sic] and somebody told me it’s halfway about me.”
Joe Budden previously made it known that he was not a fan of Cole’s “7 Minute Drill” diss track against Kendrick, which he released in response to the Compton rapper’s blistering verse on the original “Like That.”

“The tone,” he said about his main issue with the track, which has since been taken off streaming services. “This is my issue with this fucking narcoleptic sounding shit. This sounds like… if I was actively looking to cop fentanyl, this is what I would put on. I want to hear him sound alive.”
