Joe Budden Discusses VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop” Authenticity

Joe Budden recently spoke about his dealing with addiction on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop” reality television series.

“That’s been me since ’97,” Joe Budden said during an interview with Hot 97. “I’ve never been secretive about that. It’s all over my first album…I have no quarrels about it. I’m comfortable with mine. The cameras, the TV, none of that, that doesn’t change what’s really happening for me.”

He then addressed his ability to be real on screen.

“Somebody has to bring reality to it,” he said.

Budden also said that the show has helped his visibility in the public eye.

“The female demographic is huge,” Budden said.

The New Jersey-based rapper was also asked if the program has had an impact on his musical career.

“None at all,” he said. “None that you’d be able to monetize. My last album did really, really, really, really well, but to be able to gauge what effect the show had on that…I would assume the visibility always helps when you have 4 million people watching you weekly.”

Budden also discussed the difficulties the show poses for his career.

“Scheduling is difficult,” Budden said. “Now you’e balancing a group, a solo career and a television career. Scheduling gets pretty intense.”

Joe Budden and Tahiry Jose appeared on last season of “Love & Hip Hop New York.” During the season and in the show’s reunion special, the two had negative run-ins with Consequence. The run-ins included scuffles.

In May, Budden spoke about his problems with Consequence, which appeared to brew on the show.

“I thought about fucking [Consequence] up every time I saw him at one point, but we have a lot to lose today so I’d rather not look like that,” Budden told Fuse. “So I don’t want any issues with anybody at all. But if I see him again and he would like an issue, I’ll fuck him up again.”

Hopsin=Uncle rufus from boondocks. Sellout uncle toms like hopsin are even worse than racist whites. Look in hopsin eyes tell me he aint a devil the soul of a white devil trapped in a black body.

    4. I think Joe Budden must be in denial if he thinks he brings one ounce of authenticity to this show. It’s very clear that he can’t even be authentic or real with himself or Tahiry. But it looks like she might demand it later in the season. (will he step up??? …I don’t think so.) Guys think just because they’re a certain age that they are men, but most men don’t know what that really means. Stop lying, stop cheating, stop being so self-centered, and become a loving provider for the woman you’re supposedly committed to.

By the way I love Tahiry’s hair! If you’re looking for wavy or curly Brazilian Virgin Hair, definitely go to http://www.BrazilianHairBundles.com for the best quality 100% virgin human hair weave from Bossa Brazil. You’ll LOVE it.
