By now, most Hip Hop fans know about the infamous red carpet interview at Sunday night’s (June 25) BET Awards involving Joe Budden, Migos and DJ Akademiks. Things got a little heated after Ak asked Takeoff about “Bad & Boujee,” ultimately causing Budden to drop the mic and storm off the set, while Migos stood up like something was about to go down. Security got involved and the incident was quickly over.
Not only did the incident spawn some hilarious memes, but it also prompted Budden to call Akademiks “one of the biggest pussies” he’s ever met during an episode of the #JoeBuddenPodcast posted Wednesday (June 28) when addressing the situation.
“DJ Akademiks is one of the biggest pussies I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” Budden told hosts Rory and Mal. “He should never comment on anything that has to do with physicality. Well you gotta stop talking sometimes when you’re a pussy … there’s nothing wrong with being a pussy, but you got be a pussy to the corner sometimes. Just shut up.”
The Everyday Struggle co-host then questioned why anyone asks to interview Migos in the first place. “Why would anyone want to interview Migos,” he said. “I’ve never seen a good Migos interview in my entire life. Ever.”
When Rory and Mal pointed out people are interested in hearing from Migos, he retorted, “I don’t give a fuck!” Budden appeared less than amused when his co-hosts said he was a media personality and had to do certain things he might not want to do — like interview Migos.
“No the fuck … no I do not,” he fired back.”No I do not ever have to talk to fucking Migos … Well, I did, but only because I was at the red carpet.
He mentioned Complex insisted he do interview with Migos, who he calls “shady,” but had it been left up to him, he clearly wouldn’t have done it. “Migos get up there,” he explains. “They shady from the jump. They ain’t dappin’ niggas, they got attitudes. I’m like really? This is what you wanted to interview?”

How Joe call anyone a pussy when he says one thing and he back peddles and does the opposite when he sucks up to guests. He says all this about the Migos after the incident, but we all saw how shook he was when it went down – bitchin it. Same thing with Slim Jimmy, his energy switched up real quick. Nah, “Hanz On” is the guy who hit him. He’s a Wu-Tang affiliate. Rae said he didn’t want the altercation to happen that he was just trying to talk to Budden about it and Budden wasn’t trying to talk back; and Hanz On got mad about the situation and hit him. You can still to this day find interviews with Raekwon saying he respects Budden and his peoples (Slaughter House) but he was just trying to educate Budden and Budden was being disrespectful; basically not trying to hear it.
I’m not really a fan of them but some of those Migos look fucking crazy. Boxing lessons won’t stop you from losing an eyeball to a bunch of complete lunatics.
Akademiks needs to get some balls and use his leverage to get some respect on the show. He brings the views. If Joe or his girl disrespects him he needs to check them or at least stand up for himself. That doesn’t necessarily mean he should respond to everything. He also should stop fanboying so much. If you’re a fan of celebrity and they disrespect you. Don’t suck up to them just because you’re a fan. Be a man. Everyone has to go to the toilet and no one is above you.

I don’t even follow Akademiks and I’ve still been able to notice that he comments on the personal lives of people much tougher than him and he’s not really built like that. It may have been fine before he became famous enough to actually meet these people face to face, but now that he’s been in that spot numerous times, he’s kind of exposed himself. The man talked about nothing. But my magazine wanted something and I gave it to them). And then I saw this interview with Lil Yachty he had on his show Everyday Struggle
with the lamest DJ eva(EVER!) DJ Akademiks and a young lady who I feel so bad for, really showed me a man who’s salty as s**t. I don’t like Lil’ Yachty, but I’m not supposed to. Im 34, he’s 19(19!!), naw, he’s not for me. Just like Diddy wasn’t for my older cousins generation of hip hop listeners. With that being said I respect how Lil’ Yachty markets himself and again, I’m 34(which means I don’t care). Lil Yachty isn’t killing the culture no more than Diddy was killing the culture in 97(Yall remember a lot of golden era cats were roasting Diddy for his sampling. By the way Hip Hop is never going to die! Bars still matter Proof? Kendrick Lamar sells). I say that to say that he seems to be truly lost and not understanding how he is not gatekeeper of the culture, but rather a supplicant on his knees vying for asspectance one minute, but then understanding that he can’t gain the entry(he’s old. His last hit was in 04? 05? Come on sun!) that he wants and going for his new check which is being a loud, beguilingly flawed, false intellectual who can’t fully admit to his major character flaws(or when he’s dead wrong) because…the salaciousness of demenour insures his existence(and check). Charlamagne Tha God is an ass****, but he at least he says what he thinks at the time when that artist is in his face and I can’t see him being that unprofessional at an event like BET awards. I’m writing this because I’m from Jersey and want to like Joey but he’s in a downward spirial into his own ass****dom which will invitably lead him to a pile of s**t that will be(and what I believe is currently) his life.
