Jin Speaks on New Album, Video Game

Jin The Emcee is mostly known for his rapping abilities but soon the crafty head will hit your television sets. In addition, The Emcee has been chatting with fans and getting ready to release an EP.

DX was able to track Jin down and speak to him about some of these endeavors.

The ex-Ruff Ryder is teaming up with NBA: Ballers for an appearence on the next installment in the Ballers series. The star will be featured as a character in the new videogame.

”It was a great experience being part of the development of the game. It all started out when I submitted a song for the game. After meeting up with the developers at Midway, we started brainstorming this concept of players getting to challenge me to a freestyle battle in the game on one of the bonus levels. I mean, to be a character in a video game? That’s dope. I think every little kid dreams of doing that at some point,” he said.

The EP, A Bunch of Songs and Some Freestyles will be released this May. Jin explains the title is apt for the release. ”It’s sort of a semi-album/mixtape type of thing. Just something to hold the fans over until my next official album, which I’m currently working on.”

While most stars try to keep their private lives away form the public, Jin has decided to interact with fans on a daily basis. He’s taken over as the writer for his newsletters and has even given fans his official AOL Instant Messenger screen name.

So, what’s with giving fans such personal information?

”Ilovetoeatspam is my aim sn. That’s just how I do. To me, building with the fans is one of the greatest rewards of being an artist. These people support me so I gotta reach out to them.”

The game, NBA Ballers: Phenom is slated to hit shelves April 5, while his EP is set to hit stores in May. For more on Jin, feel free to hit him up on AIM, where you will be sent to a chatroom with the star and his fans.

He is also currently touring with Dub Magazine.
