Jim Jones has weighed in on the Top 50 rapper debate (again), claiming that one MC in particular, Pusha T, is undeserving of a spot on the list.

During a recent episode of the Rap Caviar Podcast, the Dipset capo ruffled some feathers as he chimed in with his thoughts regarding Billboard and VIBE‘s 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time list, which placed the Clipse rapper at No.29.

“What has he done that puts him in the greatest rappers of all time besides talk about coke that he probably didn’t get himself?” Jones questioned the other panel members.

While he did give Pusha T his flowers as a lyricist, he questioned his impact on the culture, overall.

“He’s nice as shit. He could rap his ass off, but what has he done?” asked Jones. “Nobody has dressed like him. Nobody wants to be like Pusha T. I don’t remember nothing. And let’s not be evil, but we don’t talk about rap where the n-gga that’s popping the bitches wanna fuck and the n-ggas wanna be like. I don’t know too many n-ggas in this game that was leaning towards being like Pusha T.”

“Pusha T don’t hold no weight out here. He not pushing no shit out here,” continued Jones, while Bootleg Kev referenced his 2018 Grammy nominated album Daytonathe first full-length project from Kanye West’s Wyoming sessions.

Jones went on to say that he’d “easily” put Big Sean and Cam’ron over King Push. “You go in these clubs, I don’t know no records they play in the club with Pusha T. They don’t play his shit outside.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Jones doubled down on his declaration that Drake is the best rapper ever.

“Drake is the only one that gets played anyplace on this Earth, and they’re gonna know it in English,” he said. “If you’re not putting Drake in the Top 2 of all time, like, what are we gonna do? We gonna keep putting shade on his name? He has broke every single statistic, period. You heard?”

When asked if everyone could agree that JAY-Z was No.1 on the “G.O.A.T. list,” Jim Jones wasn’t hearing it, stating, “We can’t agree on that.”

“I can’t agree to that … But let me talk some shit. Yes. He’s at the top of the barrel when it comes to what he’s done. He’s a billionaire. He’s done some shit for dope boys that people never even thought could be. He’s put himself in rooms that you never could imagine. Alright? And his business acumen is way bigger than his music acumen, at this point. I haven’t heard too much JAY-Z music in the last six to seven years that was really hittin’ out here in these streets.”

Jim Jones previously sang Drake’s praises in a Complex interview on March 10, and the comments raised a lot of eyebrows.

“I would say he’s the greatest of all time,” Jimmy told the outlet. “I would just give that to him. And I mean, there’s a lot of people from the beginning and people that invented Hip Hop, I know.

“But the greatest of all time, it’s a big statement, and the relevancy that he keeps showing year after year, hit after hit, record after record. Any song that he has put out has seemed to go multiple platinum. That’s never happened before in history.”
