Jim Jones Thinks Drake Is ‘The Greatest Of All Time’

Jim Jones has crowned Drake the greatest rapper of all time during an interview early this week and he has a solid argument to back it up.

During his conversation with Complex, Capo claimed there’s no one more fitting of the G.O.A.T. rapper title than Drizzy. According to Jones, Drake’s 15-year journey in the Hip Hop game has never been seen before.

“I would say he’s the greatest of all time,” the Dipset member stated. “I would just give that to him. And I mean, there’s a lot of people from the beginning and people that invented Hip Hop, I know. But the greatest of all time, it’s a big statement, and the relevancy that he keeps showing year after year, hit after hit, record after record. Any song that he has put out has seemed to go multiple platinum. That’s never happened before in history.”

He continued: “I mean, there are a few other people that do astronomical numbers like that, but he really in it, you know what I mean? From all angles of music. It ain’t no place you go where they’re not going to play some Drake records to get the party started. He moves around here like the real Bruce Wayne. He’s my spirit animal, man. I just got to give credit where credit is due, and not taking away from nobody else.”

Jim Jones then brought up comparisons to JAY-Z and how although he’s one of the greatest rappers of all time, he’s not as strong of a force as Drake is now on the Hip Hop scene. According to Jim, Hov “exited music a long time ago.”

“What [JAY-Z] has done to this game is astronomical, he’s like Michael Jordan for what he has put on and what he has done since he came in the game and where he’s at right now,” Jim added. “But Jay exited music a long time ago. And that space, that void, I don’t know if it’s a void, but Drake has not exited, and he’s still going strong to this day, and it doesn’t seem like he’s stopping no time soon.”

He added: “But in this day, us highlighting our era really don’t hold no merit in what’s functioning right now… So, we tend to forget a lot of that shit from back in those days.”

Jim Jones’ take on Drizzy isn’t too farfetched given the numbers the Toronto megastar has put up in his career. Drake has sold over 170 million records worldwide and is ranked as the highest-certified digital singles artist in the country by the Recording Industry Association of America.

If that weren’t enough, his numbers on the Billboard charts are ridiculous. He has 11 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and holds further Hot 100 records such as: the most Top 10 singles (67), most charted songs (293), the most simultaneously charted songs in one week (27), the most Hot 100 debuts in one week (22) and the most continuous time on the Hot 100 (431 weeks).

He also has the most No. 1 singles on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Hot Rap Songs, and Rhythmic Airplay charts.

This isn’t the first time Jim Jones has spoken about Drake. Last month, Jimmy crowned Drizzy the fifth member of Dipset following their joint performance at the OVO boss’ string of shows at the Apollo Theater. Drake brought Dipset out on stage and even wore some of Cam’ron’s iconic jackets.

The Diplomats rapper took to Instagram to share a video of Drizzy wearing a jacket adorned with the group’s logo as Cam’ron and Juelz Santana‘s “Oh Boy” played through the speakers.

“@champagnepapi official 5th member of #DIPSet,” he wrote in the caption. “U did tht thnku bless up to the whole #OVO.”

Meanwhile, Jim Jones has just dropped a new collaborative album with Hitmaka titled Back In My Prime. Released on Friday (March 10), it comes equipped with eight tracks and includes features from Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign, Stefflon Don and more.

    1. Drake a pop rap great? Sure. Hiphop artist or MC? Never even top 500. Generally speaking, when people talk about the hiphop GOATs, they only consider people who are either MCs or just very talented with the hiphop subject matter and sound. Sure, dmx and 50 weren’t lyrical. But they were dope with the sound, story telling, and energy. Drake is pop rap, not hiphop. Even at that, I’d way rather hear some Ja Rule pop rap than Drake. I never enjoyed a single Drake song in my life.

      1. You are lame and narrow-minded who wants to believe you are superior too all the millions of Drizzy fans. You’re nothing buy a hater and troll. That’s it. Stop trying to sound enlightened.

      2. You responded twice in different ways lol. “Trying to sound enlightened”. Uh, it’s just using some intelligence to try and make a compelling argument. Sorry that my 6th grade language skills are too high and mighty for you.

    2. Come on now. Drake’s the man for sure but GOAT? Some of y’all just down on your luck and want a feature. He has to be the most successful “urban” artist but he’s not an mc and he’s lost 2 of his 3 battles. Nobody fears his skills, they only fear his connections

    3. Drake is a crooner, a pop artist. WTF are we even talking about garbage like that on a supposedly hip hop site? You call yourself hiphop dx but it’s nothing but commercial billboard pop music for white teenagers on here.

    4. Drake is a crooner, a pop artist. WTF are we even talking about garbage like that on a supposedly hip hop site? You call yourself hiphop dx but it’s nothing but commercial billboard pop music for 13 year old females on here. No man with his 2 nuts fully intact listens to Drake.

    5. Dudes who likes Drake’s music are sus af.. his music is for females.. too many effeminate males out there nowadays

      1. It’s true. I ain’t ever drove around bumpin his music. And I’ve been listening to hip hop since I was in short pants.

    6. There’s like 3 Drake songs in existence that do not make me want to kill myself – poetic justice with Kendrick lamar, good girls gone bad with the Game and that one song with BadGirlRiRi, other than that he can get straight the duck out of here he is not even a rapper so it is what it is

    7. Nobody has dominated music more than Drake. I’ve found out Drake haters don’t understand music. All rappers wished they could get on any record like Drake. From Brazilian funk, Grime, Drill, Trap, Rnb, Soul, House he’s left no genre untouched. Hes dedication to music is unparalleled. He launched many careers simply by being on the same record as them. I’ve found out the greats are only appreciated after they gone. Cause after they gone, they no longer make the haters feel like sh^t

      1. Don’t understand music? If you listen to Drake, you don’t have a damn clue what good music is. Every feat with Drake, he’s the worst artist on the track for a reason. His ghostwriters can’t even write good bars for him. The man made a career off of degrassi, his mom putting him in the music industry and whining about his exs. Who paid you to defend this legendary man child?
