JID and Metro Boomin have given fans a first teaser of their highly anticipated collaborative album.
The Atlanta rapper premiered a new song called “WRK” during his set at J. Cole‘s Dreamville Festival this past weekend, while also sharing a high-quality snippet of the track on social media.

“WRK” is currently available to pre-save through JID’s website, where three other songs — “DRP,” “Killers Back” and “HoodByJID Freestyle” — are also teased.
In an interview with Complex at the Raleigh, North Carolina Festival, the Dreamville MC touched on his full-length collaboration with Metro, as well as his upcoming solo album, which is tentatively titled Forever & A Day.

While he reassured fans that new material is “actually happening,” JID did not reveal when either project will be released.
“When the work is there, you’re gonna know exactly what it is,” he said. “I promise, when it’s presented, you’re gonna know exactly what it is. There’s not gonna be so much of a mystery around it.”
A joint album with Metro Boomin has been on the cards since 2023 when the producer posted a picture of the two of them at work in a recording studio.
Metro captioned the photo: “Got a lot of new music coming but when me and @JIDsv drop [fire emoji] [spiral eye emoji].”

JID then confirmed that the pair were working on a full project together by correcting a tweet that claimed they were merely teasing a new song.
While the duo have yet to release any music together, they appear to have already developed creative chemistry.
“I love working with u brudda, it’s an honor,” JID replied to Metro’s tweet, to which he responded: “Honor is mine family [handshake emoji].”
The Spillage Village MC also recently served up a first taste of his new solo album via a WingStop commercial.

In Marc, he joined forced with the fast food giant to narrate an ad for the company’s new chicken tenders and revealed that the beat playing in the background was from his next project, writing on Instagram: “Thank you to @wingstop for letting me curate this #ad with production from my next album.”
JID added in the comments section: “Y’all really mad at me for loving wings plus the beat is from my album, THe ALBum lol come one man, yall being stiff.”
He also joked: “A n-gga leaking his album beats thru a wingstop commercial, come on we playing a different game.”
