“We’re dropping more music and, of course, finishing the Metro project,” he said, referencing his joint album with the super-producer.

The 33-year-old also revealed he plans on writing a children’s book: “It’s called Astrid the Ostrich, an African Bird. I’m still working on it, but it’s just about emotions that a child would go through and I’m doing it my type of way. It’s going to be cool.”

In another major TV moment, JID performed “Surround Sound” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this week, marking his second appearance on the late-night spot.

Both appearances come on the heels of the rapper receiving a boost from the virality of social media trends, resulting in the aforementioned track becoming a chart-topper.
